rain storm

on the porch smoking a cigarette
blowing the smoke away imagining its her pain
the stars are shining above but she is dark
there is a hole in her heart that no one can fix
in her head she hears their song going round
Kiss the rain whenever you need me
kiss the rain whenever I’m gone, too long
if your lips feel lonely and thirsty
kiss the rain and wait for the dawn
keep in mind we’re under the same sky
and the nights as empty for me, as for you
if you feel you can’t wait till morinin’
kiss the rain

the stars above slowly disappear
behind the stormy clouds
droplets descend from the sky
in an attempt to extinquish her smoke
she turns her face to the heavens
tasting the cool rain on her face
her eyes close and she can see his face
she feels his hand brush her cheek
as the rain falls down her face
his fingers comb her hair
brushing away the pain and sorrow
he wraps her in an embrace
and holds her tight
the water drips off her nose
her dry lips crack as she opens them
for a moment she is far above the earth
removed from the bonds of time and space
he is standing in front of her
holding out his arms to her
she runs to him and clings tightly
in that moment she forgets pain
she breaths in his scent
and releases all the heartache
for a moment she is truly happy
the rain ends and she is on her porch
holding a wet cigarette and shivering
the feeling lingers and she smiles
an angel visited her
and gave her his love
