puirt a beul

I can’t sleep. I was so exhausted today. I tried to get something done, but ended up passing out on the couch. The Guy was supposed to come over (btw – he needs a new nickname, any ideas?) or at least call. He didn’t. I know he’s sick. He called early this morning to tell me he was sick and wasn’t coming to church. But he wanted to come over this afternoon sometime and hear about my evening. I called twice to no answer. That’s about when I fell asleep on the couch. I was hoping he’d call or show up or something. But I really didn’t think it would happen. And I was right. I woke up about 10pm to horrible stomach cramps (Thank You Female Reproductive System!). So I got up and climbed into bed. But now I can’t sleep. I laid in bed for about 2 hours and couldn’t sleep. I’ve been surfing the Net and wishing I was anyone but me. Even WoW isn’t bringing pleasure, distraction or sleep. I’ve been listening to puirt a beul, traditional music from Scotland. Its also known as mouth music. There aren’t words, but meaningless vocables. Think of something like scat singing a bagpipe tune. The rhythm and sound is more important than the words. Which fights against the concept that music needs words to be important.

And now I’ve changed over to APHC….this is going to be a long night.

Hey there! A fellow Skye girl huh?! 😀 I live quite close to Dunvegan actually. Near to Edinbane, if you’ve ever heard of there. I can definately imagine missing Skye. I’ve lived here all of my life, but I love it. It’s so much safer than living in Glasgow or somewhere like that. And it’s so beautiful 😀 You should defo come back and visit!!! 😀 Xxxxx Robyn

Thanks for stopping by and offer your advice about playing piano under noisy environment. I told my piano teacher about my night, and we had a good laugh and she share with me her version of crazy playing-for-a-party stoies.
