Let Go

drink up baby down
mmm are you in or are you out
leave your things behind
cause it’s all going off without you
excuse me too busy writing your tragedy
these mishaps you bubble wrap
when you¹ve no idea what you’re like

so let go
jump in
oh well whatcha waiting for
it’s alright
cause there¹s beauty in the breakdown
so let go
just get in
oh it’s so amazing here
it’s alright
cause there’s beauty in the breakdown

it gains the more it gives
and it rises with the fall
so hand me that remote
can’t you see that all that stuff’s a sideshow
such boundless pleasure
we’ve no time for later now
you can’t await your own arrival
you’ve 20 seconds to comply

so let go
jump in
oh well whatcha waiting for
it’s alright
cause there¹s beauty in the breakdown
so let go
just get in
oh it’s so amazing here
it’s alright
cause there’s beauty in the breakdown

Let Go ~ Frou FrouI won’t lie and pretend I’ve heard of this band or this song before Garden State came out. But I still love this song. The sounds seem to appear as the vocals start in the opening of this song. The beat is driving, but not in a forceful way. It almost seems like a heartbeat, so steady and calm.
I breakdown a lot. I usually fight it going in, trying to keep my sanity for as long as possible. I know once I do everything will get better, but I still fight it. This song is so true with its lyrics. Once everything breaks down there is an immense calm and beautiful peacefulness. But still reality is ticking away and time goes on, like the steady beat in the song.
I listened to this song for days over and over after my grandfather’s funeral. Manny had seen me off because he would be leaving while I was away. He left the Garden State soundtrack on my bed. I found it when I got home a few days later. It was so perfect and excatly how it should be. And the song is really what I needed at that moment.

RYN: Yes, check out Hawthorne Heights. I really love the CD. And if you get a chance to see them live, do. Good band to see live. I really like their music. I haven’t made the connection to them as I have with other bands but that doesn’t always happen over night. But I still love what I’ve heard so far and I’m sure the connection will happen. Take care and I’ll talk to you later *Heather*
