Don’t be putoff by how depressed I sound right now, because I am really happy because…

MEGAN’s HERE!!!

She had a problem Tuesday with renting her car, so she and Rick didn’t get to Beacon until Wednesday late morning. When I got off work, I called them and went to meet them at Friendly’s. Maura, Jason, Farrah and her daughter were there, too. Maura had class and Jason wanted to go home, so the rest of us went to my house to hang out for a while. Rick took a nap, while Megan, Farrah and I talked and played with Navara. (She’s so cute!) Around 4pm, they all left and I went to get ready for class. We only had like 20 minutes of class because it was snowing, and she sent us home. So I called Megan, who had gone back to Holly’s to see Holly’s mom and she and Rick picked me up and we went to Hob Nobbin’ for dinner. Maura and Farrah met us there. We had a pretty good time with dinner. Rick was pissing Megan off a few times, so we had to go outside so she could cool down. She has grown up quite a bit, but she is still very dramatic about other things. I don’t know why, but I kind of feel bad for Rick. He tries. He needs to quit the lying thing, but he tries. I don’t really see him picking fights or anything, which is very good. I told Megan that he was definitly an upgrade. So Farrah had to leave after we ate because Navara was tired and Maura didn’t want to sit at the bar and drink (She’s actually only 20), so Megan, Rick and I ended up there by ourselves, which was fine. Rick was playing some virtual golf game and Megan got pretty well lit. Rick had the bartender make her a Birthday Special, which was really quite good. She had a Hurricane earlier with dinner, and then we were all drinking Coors Light. I was definitly tipsy, or getting there, but Megan is such a lightweight, she was gone. We left somewhere around 1:30am. It was snowing and because I had been drinking as much as I had been, Rick was driving. He was worried because he’s never driven in snow before. Megan wants to come back at Christmas with the girls, but he’s not so sure. He told me he was afraid of the snow then, especially with the girls in the car. I told him it wasn’t that bad. Besides the fact that it rarely snows before Christmas and if it does, it doesn’t stick. I told him just drive slow and if there is someone acting stupid, let them pass or go by and don’t worry about it. He seemed to feel a little better about it. And he was fine driving to my house from the bar. Megan said he did good going to Beacon too. But before we got into the car, we had a mini snowball fight. Megan was cleaning off the car and Rick threw snow at her. She threw it back, then I threw some at her, etc. You get the idea. At one point, Rick was standing on the other side of the car, looking away from me. I threw a snowball at his head, expecting him to duck, but he turned right into it. It hit the side of his head, and he was laughing hystericaly. We all were. It was fun.

Thursday was the City trip. Maura and her boyfriend was suppose to go with us, but she was tired and sick and had sunburn or something, so she didn’t go. Farrah was suppose to go too, but there was something about her boyfriend getting out of jail and he needed her to pick him up or something. Whatever. Holly had finals, but Megan hasn’t been able to get a hold of her either. And its not like Megan’s not trying. But Holly’s basically being a baby. I didn’t really want to drive down the Fishkill to go to Friendly’s but it was Megan. I haven’t seen her in 5 years so I can deal with going to Fishkill. So anyways, the big City trip, ended up being me, Megan and Rick. Which was really ok because its easier to do what everyone wants when there are less people. And I went with the mentality that we would do pretty much whatever Rick and Megan wanted to do. They are from Arizona. If I really wanted to, I could go back down tomorrow or something. They have to go back to AZ. Anyways, we caught the 12:33 Metro into Grand Central and tried to figure out where we wanted to go. Rick and I wanted to see ground zero, and that’s downtown, so we went there first. It was surprisingly smaller than I pictured for some reason. But it was still immense. To think that two huge towers once stood there, and to think I climbed those towers more than once, and now its just a hole in the ground is unbelievable. The buildings around it have scars that are limited, but visible. It was creepy. Strange, but creepy. Then we walked up into Chinatown, passing by the Brooklyn Bridge. To be perfectly honest, Megan and I only had a small idea of where we were going and Rick was just following us like a little puppy. But we found Chinatown (follow that Chinese ambulance!). Hey it worked. Megan and Rick got the girls these adorable shoes. Rick got some game he wanted and Megan bought Rick two little Buddhas. He collects them. We wandered towards Little Italy, but never really made it. Instead we took the subway to Times Square. We had lunch/dinner in this place called Times Square Brewery. The food was great and because it was relatively early, there was no waiting to sit or anything like that. Rick took a menu home with us too. When we got out of there, it was begining to get dark, so the lights were more visible. We started walking towards Rockefeller Center. We stopped to get coffee on the way. Well, Megan was walking way too fast and spilled some on her coat. My god. You could have sworn she had broken her back. She was whining and screaming, throwing a fit like I swear I’ve only seen in small children. She was pissing Rick off and was starting to piss me off too. I warned her not to wear anything nice or skimpy down there because it would be cold and it was the City. Things get dirty! But she didn’t listen and was now whining like a child. I seriously almost smacked her. But I refrained and she eventually shut up a little bit. My dad had told us there was an observation deck called “Top of the Rock” open up there. It was much like the Empire State Building, but supposedly cheaper. Well, we found Rockefeller Center, but couldn’t find the Top of the Rock. Eventually we found out it wasn’t due to open until the fall. The guard told us it was suppose to open last month, but construction delays and whatever. That kind of sucked because I really wanted Rick to see the layout of the city. Its sometimes hard when you are in the middle of everything to get a good idea of what the place it like. But the Rock wasn’t open yet and it was too late to go to Empire State Building. And Megan was whining again. Her legs hurt, her back hurt, her knees hurt. I was ready to smack her. I’ve never though I was in better shape than she was, but I was fine. Rick wasn’t even complaining. But he wanted to go to FAO Schwartz. Yeah, that was closing when we arrived. So he was a little grumpy, but the only thing I heard was probably two words about his disappointment. He’s a trooper. So Megan tried to call Holly (no answer) and then Maura was complaining about something. Megan was trying to get me to decide if I was coming out or not. At that point I was tired and just wanted to get home. I was hoping I could sleep on the train and be a bit more awake. But I was also thinking that I had to work today whereas Megan didn’t need toour life to begin,
And you could be so much more than you’ve been.
And I have found my feet 257 weeks,
But you could be waiting for your life to begin…

And it’s so sad,
You’re so good and I’m so bad!
But you won’t see me wasting the best thing I’ve ever had!
And it’s such a shame,
That I can’t tell you anything!
You won’t hear me still you endear me…

And it’s so sad,
You’re so good and I’m so bad!
But you won’t see me wasting the best thing I’ve ever had!
And it’s such a shame,
That I can’t tell you anything!
You won’t hear me still you endear me now!…
Still you endear me now!…
Still you endear me now!…
