How About You?
If someone else showed you the way
Would you take the wheel and steer?
It hurts me that you’re not ashamed
Of what you’re doing here
If they jumped off a bridge
Would you meet them on the ground?
Or would you try and claim
That it never made a sound
Everyone plays the hand they’re dealt
And learns to walk through life themselves
Not everything in life is handed on a plate
When people think your words aren’t true
It doesn’t matter what you do
I sold my soul to get here
How ’bout you?
So you choose to force your hand
What a strange way to make freinds
And you always change the rules
So the drama never ends
And you blindly go through life
Judging only by what its worth
Just try not to forget
That the meek inherit earth
Everyone plays the hand they’re dealt
And learns to walk through life themselves
Not everything in life is handed on a plate
When people think your words aren’t true
It doesn’t matter what you do
I sold my soul to get here
How ’bout you?
so please don’t take offense
this is just a point of view
cuz i’m the only one who
will say these things to you
Everyone plays the hand they’re dealt
And learns to walk through life themselves
Not everything in life is handed on a plate
When people think your words aren’t true
It doesn’t matter what you do
I sold my soul to get here
How ’bout you?
How About You ~ Staind
A really close friend and I had a really bad arguement right after my birthday. We then made up, but had another fight, which ended our friendship of almost 5 years. This song really explains the frustration I felt with her and how she was acting. She doesn’t realize that life is life and you can’t always change it. The verses apply so well. She is constantly trying to make me fit into what she wants. She forces her hand, no wonder we aren’t friends anymore. She really doesn’t appreciate things for their true value. The chorus is excatly how I feel towards her. She needs to deal with the hand she’s been dealt and learn to walk through it all. She has been handed so much on a plate of love and caring. I have had to work hard and earn everything I have. She really has never had to do that, even though her family isn’t well off. Her parents have given her everything and continue to do so. I sold my soul to get here in my life, in my relationships, in my family. And she just doesn’t get that. The bridge is also true. I’m the only one who has ever had the guts to call her on the carpet about how she acts and treats me. And she couldn’t deal with it, so we aren’t friends anymore.
I never realized how much this song applies to my situation until now.
Sorry about you losing your friend. But if she’s always trying to change you then maybe it was a good thing. Ya know? Well anywho… do you like the song Basket Case by Green Day? Just wondering because on your other diary you said to recomend songs. Well that’s my faveorite one by Green Day along with Brain stew. But I’ll leave you now. Bye bye!
