Forever Nights

Sometime we’ll take that long drive
And swim in the lake as hotdogs roast
We’ll get drunk and sit around the fire
Singing the best sing-a-long songs ever
The bottle in my hand and the gleam in your eye
Will let us know everything will be alright
We’ll sit in the grass and talk about the world
The places we’ve been and the people we’ve seen
Movies sets and castles out of a dream
The backdrop for who we are is what we do today
So kiss my hand and I’ll kiss your cheek
Climb onto the roof and watch the stars fall
We’ll know all the words to all our favorite songs
But no one sings along to the songs that make us cry
Watch the fire die and listen to the forest sleep
Marshmellows and chocolate melted on graham crackers
Will be our last supper as we part company
Take the bottle out of my hand and put me in bed
I’ll sleep on your shoulder if you promise
Not to love me when the sun touches my face
Tonight will be ours and go down in history
As the best night for our final goodbyes

as for your entry, wow, that’s hardcore… you paint a vivid picture of good times tainted with sadness. it’s beautiful, although disheartening. *sigh* all my best to you, take care of yourself, and enjoy the marshmallows.
