Fears and Tears

Don’t wanna feel so deep
This hurts while he’s out in Montauk
Cause she wants him here if just to sleep
Even out the breathing and sighs
He’s not what she needs or wants
But she won’t let him go for her fear
And she won’t let him in for her tears

He’s so strong and sure, on his way out
Somewhere out in there where she’s not
She’s so guarded and unsure, on her way back
From somewhere in her head where he’s not
He turns to see the smile fade but
He’ll keep walking and the end is near
But she won’t let him go for her fear
And she won’t let him in for her tears

Hiding in her room, protected by her music
Not letting the world into help her
Wash the blood and his smell
from her sheets, her pillowcase
But every cigarette she lights
And every time that song plays
She slightly dies inside where he can’t see
But she won’t let him go for her fear
And she won’t let him in for her tears

He’ll charm her, seduce her back into bed
Laugh at her jokes and hold her through the night
Tell her she’s beautiful and talented
But he ignores the late night calls
Pretends to not hear the need in her voice
He’ll rape her soul of everything she’ll give
And she gives it all just for his care
But she won’t let him go for her fear
And she won’t let him in for her tears
