don’t the best of them bleed it out
So tonight the drinks should be bought for Mitch and Dustin the bartender. I’ve quoted Dustin in previous entries. I went out to the bar with Mitch tonight and I had a great time. It was not a get-sloshed-beyond-belief kind of time. It was a have two drinks and talk a lot. It was beyond wonderful to be able to talk about my situation with the roommates with people who were sympathetic and jumping at the chance to help. Both Dustin and Mitch were trying to find all kinds of solutions and ways to help me out. Dustin told me about numerous places open to live and even Mitch hinted that he might have room in his house for next semester. I mean, nothing was solved and there’s no grand perfect solution, but they were so great about trying to help and providing plenty of laughs.
Mitch just recently started dating a girl who is bipolar II, like me. He told me this in confidence because he knows I am also bipolar. When I dropped him off, I told him it would be fine with me if he told Dez that I ws bipolar. It was the beginning of a long conversation about his fears and concerns with this relationship. I think he really needed someone to talk to, but was somewhat boxed in because its such a delicate situation. We talked about a lot of things and it was really great, for both of us. He and Dustin both decided that I needed to go out more and play WoW less. I told them I loved WoW, but I would always be willing to go out. I think sometimes WoW players are thought of as geeks who never leave their computers, not for food, sex or sleep. I’m not nearly that bad. Yet. In the end, its just a game.
I think my favorite moment of the night was what Dustin said as we left the bar. Jenn had made a comment to me after Jay invited me out to the bar with all of our friends. She said she felt he was too comfortable in this town, inviting me to her bar in her town with her friends. So as we left, Dustin pointed at me and said, “And remember, its your bar too.” It was perfect. Just what I needed to hear. Like I actually belong here.
So in honor of Mitch and Dustin…
Too alarming now to talk about
Take your pictures down and shake it out
Truth or consequence, say it aloud
Use that evidence, race it around
There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He’s ordinary
Don’t the best of them bleed it out
While the rest of them peter out
Truth or consequence, say it aloud
Use that evidence, race it around
There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He’s ordinary
Kudos my hero leaving all the best
You know my hero, the one that’s on
There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He’s ordinary

Awesome, this… made me smile. Way to go! 🙂 “who is bipolar II, like me” <– I like this, because while I suspect Bipolar II is a stage-oriented name, it could also mean "too." So it's a nice play on words. Hurray! “WoW players are thought of as geeks who never leave their computers, not for food, sex or sleep” <– I swear, I thought the next sentence would be, "I still leave for sex…"Hahaha. Yea, geek humor. Take care my dear, I’m happy to see such positive moments. 🙂
