A Day

Put on the makeup, dress up for the day
Drive down the road by the airport
Come into her world and smell the plastic plants
There are fake smiles and legalities around her
And all through the day her head echos with music
Living in a plastic world with the carpeted floor
No blood stains and emotions allowed in the door
Drop them outside on the floor and walk away
You can pick them up when you leave this place
Night falls as the door opens to the cold air
Shivering, shaking, they can’t see her heart breaking
But with colored lights and dying flowers
The sun drops down and the long night begins
But there will be no sleep tonight for her
Emptiness overtaking her every thought
Cold void inhaled with her every breath
Meaningless chatter on the radio
No one to warm her cold feet or ease her fears
No one to call her to bed but emptiness
And so she sits awake all night
Trying believe in the absense he creates
