The most embarrassing moment of my life

So I was really excited all week about this guy coming over from the other building at residence, where I live, and I was going to make him dinner. We are friends to an extent, so when he said he was going to be here at 6 and I didn’t even hear from him by 6:30, I was only slightly offended.

I went over and asked him what was up, and he didn’t really apologize, he just kind of made an excuse and came over with me. I thought I’d shrug it off and let it go…but I realized that my potatoes weren’t completely cooked and my chicken was a little burnt.

I let it go, I told myself not to worry about it, I was going to try and make the best of the situation.

Well, my best guy friend happened to drop by during dinner and starts joking about my horrible cooking. Well there goes that…because I know how much he likes girls that can cook…still, I tried to have a good sense of humour about it.

I had been planning the dinner all day and I wanted to spend time with this guy…well, the guy got right into it and told me to put the potatoes back in the oven for a bit longer…so I did. A little too long I guess, I burnt them a bit…not too badly, but I guess enough to set the whole building alarm off!

I happen to be an RA at residence, so EVERYONE knows who I am when someone says that it was me who set it off…not to mention I was the one that had to tell the firefighters that it was me that set it off…I was mortified…

To top it off, the second the alarm went off, the guy I was trying to impress grabbed all the garlic bread he could and took it outside with him. When we got out there, he said, "well, I’m going to go into my building where it’s warm. Talk to you later" and left me out there by myself without another word.

The guy sounds like a tried and true a**hole. You deserve someone much better! I’d move on and focus on boys who deserve your attention, and not look back at the butthead eating (what I’m sure was) your wonderful garlic bread!

Nikki – Wow…complete jackass. Not worth the effort. It’s awesome that you went to such an extent to impress him, but he sounds like he just doesn’t get it. -Josh
