November 3rd Gratitude
His gratitude extended into today. He thanked me a bunch more times today. He told me he told everyone what I did. His wife, kids, even our store manager, who told him he was going to check the security cameras to find out if it was me, but also told him it wouldn’t surprise him if I had done something like that.
We had another conversation about his son today, he seems stronger about the whole thing than before, but not by much.
He got a little choked up thanking me (again!) He said it was just so nice that someone was looking out for him like that.
Honestly though? How could I NOT?! He’s in such a dark place in life, and its just such a small act of kindness, he must feel so alone, and so at odds with the world. Its times like that when you most need to believe in humanity. What an awful thing…
On a different note, I’ve been having troubles with my fish tank. I keep going to the fish store, which my landlord/friend is a manager of. He, and a lot of his staff are treating me as though I’m a big joke. I AM in there fairly often, but its always for a reason. I’m looking for advice. I mean, I don’t always get it right away, because I think A thinks I’m just there to look for hours. But I’m really just being patient waiting because there are always a lot of other customers in the store. I’m really starting to get fed up, because my tank has snails and I STILL have a cyanobacteria problem, and no advice really… I’m pretty new to all of it, and getting laughed at because I didn’t know snails were a bad thing, is not what I anticipated. I’m not sure how to confront the situation. Like, I really know NOTHING but the advice they are giving me contradicts everything I then read up on. I’m very frsutrated.
ryn: yeah i probably am reading too much into it :/ the customer service at the fish store sounds awful if they are laughing at you instead of trying to help you fix the problem. maybe theres another store in your area you could go to instead?
