work week
What a week. What a week. I had a series of meetings at school and then this thing yesterday that was 9 hours and kind of brutal. We had all 28 of the first year students pitch their script ideas and then we gave them feedback. It’s a pretty good concept but after the first three hours I was burnt and had to kind of coast for the remaining six. Mostly I let my colleagues do the talking then at the end would offer a little summation of my ideas. The main thing that killed me was when a student was pitching their idea and they would do it in this bored monotone. I mean… if you can’t muster enthusiasm for your own story how am I supposed to get on board?
I’ve started to get feedback from you all about my deformo-baby. I’ll post the results as soon as I hear back from everyone. I really appreciate all of you taking the time to read and share your thoughts. Again, I want to encourage brutal honesty as that’s the best way for me to improve the script. You’re doing me a huge favor by not sugar coating and telling me how you honestly feel. Plus, I’m a professional. I have what’s called alligator skin and can take the truth.
Alright – I’m going to slog through my giant work pile and try to clear some space for writing. Laters.
Can I still give you feed back – I finished reading it, I just have too many obligations and hadn’t gotten around to filling out the questionnaire.
