my difficult experience in the wilderness

I’m currently camping on the southern edge of the Grand Canyon. It is very difficult as you will see from these photos of my harsh surroundings. I doubt the sheets on this bed are over a 300 thread count. I will probably be dead by morning. But if I am not dead I will go to the AM yoga session in the zen tent. Yes, we are glamping. It’s a company called Under Canvass and they have luxe tents in all the national parks. This is something that was on Dean’s to do list and I’m pretty chuffed about it. Chuffed is British slang for excited or pleased. The tent has no electricity but it does have a bathroom. I’m so glad about the no electricity part because we’re in a “Dark Skies” area so tonight we should get a pretty good view of the Milky Way. Tomorrow we’re picking up our electric bikes to go exploring the canyon. Okay, I want to preserve my battery so I’ll log off for now. Plus in about half an hour the s’mores station will be set up and I need to be there early so I don’t have to shove any no-neck monsters out of my way to get my s’mores.

That is literally the only way you’d get me to stay overnight in a tent! It looks stunning. And I can’t help grinning at your excellent use of “chuffed”.

It looks amazing. Hope you had a good view of the stars. There is a dark sky a couple hours from where I live and the first time I saw it was a little overwhelming to me, in a good way. Hope you have fun!

We did an 8 day motorized raft trip down through the Canyon last year.  Whereas there was NO actual PADDLING, and our guides provided and prepared all of our (EXCELLENT) meals, – and they also set up the loo each night, it was most definitely NOT GLAMPING!  This looks like a smashing way to experience the Canyon.  Enjoy!
