It’s almost garbage day!
I love garbage day. I really do. The sound of trash trucks are a constant in my life and a reminder that civilization still exists. I live in a noisy city. The constant roar of cars and coyotes and ambulances and helicopters and midnight drunkards. I love my noisy city. Some of us do. I also love Brutalist architecture. So I’m a contrarian I guess. Big machines and industrial works have always fascinated me. Watching the city trucks rumble up and down the hillside, their robot arm reaching out to snatch up then shake the cans is my weekly thrill. I love the vibrant urgency of a city. I’ve seen Los Angeles grand and I’ve seen her humbled as she is now.
Garbage day is coming early this week. On a Wednesday instead of the usual Thursday. For me it can’t come soon enough. The garbage will be snatched up and shipped off to Florida, Satan’s spiritual home, where the garbage will continue to siphon money off the broken and the racially aggrieved among us. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving lot of folks.
stupid question? I was under the impression that Florida did want trump to live there for any extended time? I think maybe he could be shipped to North Korea? Or maybe Iran?
@jaythesmartone If he were going to leave the country more likely he’d move to Saudi Arabia or Russia. Florida has no problem with him, it’s the city of Palm Beach where his gross country club is located, that doesn’t want him. The main reasons being: they don’t want his flights shutting down the airport and his motorcades shutting down the streets every time he comes and goes from Mar A Lardo. They are also worried about all his violent supporters showing up and causing trouble. Florida, on the other hand, is largely filled with violent right wing religious extremists so they’re thrilled to have him move down there.

Our garbage day is Tuesday and in a quiet bedroom community like ours, is a loud business. Like really loud… and with the snow plows… eesh…
