feedback loop

Oh hey there! Is that a new shirt, you look great! I was just thinking about you the other day… Gosh we should really catch up. You did? Oh!? Really!? How fun. That is so great. Cool, cool… So um, listen, you know I’ve really been looking for someone who has a strong critical eye and knows what they like in a movie to read this script of mine and maybe fill out a questionnaire. Do you think…? Is it possible that maybe…? Oh my god, I would love that. I would love that.
Usually I am on the other end of that conversation. The one being buttered up before they slip me the screenplay sausage. It’s a lot to ask. It’s not to be taken lightly.
And yet, here I am, hat in hand, looking for some readers to read something out of the kindness of their hearts and give me their honest and unvarnished opinions. If you would be at all interested in reading a big budget comedy, think "Tropic Thunder" for 20-something girls, and answering a brief questionnaire, I would be forever in your gratitude. To do so you need only download the script here and download the questionnaire here . Or, if you prefer, send me a private message with your email and I’ll send you a PDF with the script and a DOC with the questionnaire. I know many if not most of you have never read a screenplay but I would not let that stop you if you’re interested. You all watch movies so you’re more than qualified to say what you like and don’t like.
Any and all feedback is welcome. The questionnaire is designed to help you, but if you want to skip it, that’s fine too – I’m most interested in hearing what you think.

Thanks in advance – Michael

Is this the script your agent shit all over? I’m about 13 pages into it. I’ll chip away at it as I can over the next day. —

I THOUGHT YOU’D NEVER ASK!!! i mean, i might be able to take a look.

Oh sure, like what the hell else do I have to do. But come to think of it, this would be like you ordering the steak and lobster on the first date. Ah, you do of course understand what that means don’t you?

I’ll have to wait to print it out at work – I need to read it on paper, not screen, to be able to enjoy. Will do the survey when I’m done. I’m actually excited to get to read it.

I’m going to give it a shot.
