A Peek Into the Dragon’s Mouth

Neat title, eh?

A day in our new location has taught Ren enough, apparently. Tomorrow we move again.

According to Ren our new position has given us 3 very strong advantages:

First, we can triangulate where the enemy is coming from, which means we know exactly the location of their main base. Now, with a large wooden watch-tower in the middle of our camp, complete with a couple archers, we can see the enemy coming, and more importantly, going. They’ve been trying to avoid us with great effort, which means that we can watch their movements without worrying that their movements will shift in our direction.

Second, we can more easily defend ourselves because conflicts are forced on only one or two fronts. They can no longer easily flank us. This is very fortunate considering how difficult it is to protect our zombies.

Third, and most importantly, we know how big they are, or in this case, little. Ren explained to me that we were attacked head on by the body of their forces in an attempt to intimidate us into stopping. It didn’t work, and since then we’ve not been attacked at all. This is amazing news. These fine enemy combatants have left our men in such a state of fear that we never realized how small their force was. Content to stay trenched for defense, and getting weaker every day due to insufficient supplies, we would have been defeated without much of a fight. Well, now we’re going to fight. Ren has passed out the last of our rations to the soldiers in an effort to give them the strength we’ve been missing. Now that the warriors have some food in them, they’re itching to fight.

I’m itching to eat, but I’m not going to be on the front lines tomorrow, so I’ll continue to fast. Soon we may eat again… One can only hope… War seems to quench the thirst of our enemies, a glass of water suits me fine.

RYN: Oh, I’ve read that entry. I still don’t know who’s who, though.

Itching to eat is better than eating to itch. Food allergies are dangerous things.
