Days 37 38 39 Lake Windermere and Cheltenham……

 37 took the train up to Lake Windermere, in the Lake District. Heaps more tourists here than Morecambe. The lakeside abounded with swans, geese, the ubiquitous seagulls and with plenty of tourists there to feed them. Took a cruise on the lake, the valley was not unlike NZ with thickly wooded sides and many small islands within the lake. My ferry boat was the Lady Westmorland. 

38 travelling  day down to Cheltenham, second visit this holiday. The reason? My soccer team Plymouth Argyle were playing. Walkd from the  station with my map in my hand but got lost, for the umpteenth time, got back on track, and found the Alice guest house. Lovely. My cabin was kitted out in a Kenyan style, since Karen, one half of the owners, had lived in Kenya. She had also lived in Wellington, NZ. Her hubby was John, a Frenchman, so we had a lot to talk about and compare our travelling experiences. 

39 match day…excited. left early for town, got my rail ticket organised for tomorrow, bought a new cap, lunched in the town centre before wending my way to the ground, Whadden Rd. The match was great as we won 3 – 1. I was nearly right behind the goal where we scored our 3 first half goals. Chatted to a few fellow supporters, all deliriously happy. it’s in my blood. green blood, even though Argyle played in their away kit of sky blue. The last away game I saw was also in Cheltenham, about 10 years ago, and we also won then. I brought them luck! 

Im waiting at Cheltenham Spa station for my train to Plymouth, my place of birth. Train leaves in half an hour……

 Ok I may have got my days mixed up, unsurprisingly. Will sort out what happened to day 37 later. What day of the week is it anyway?
