Day 7 ….. By the lake….

 * cough just a little bit better….still annoying me

* heat annoying me….breathing not as easy as back home

* up and awake at 2 30 am…can’t sleep

…………….

however…

* weight still 76 kg so I haven’t put on any since leaving last week

* lovely early morning walk along the river bank in Zurich this morning, well yesterday morning now

* first "training" walk since leaving home, last 7 days have got in the way

* spent the afternoon down by the lake with Zurich-ites and tourists, lovely.

* walked around some more of this beautiful city

and

* slightly over budget for first week, but back home have received an unexpected 540 dollar tax credit from my Kiwisaver…don’t know why, but hey….never look a gift horse in the face!

and

When I walk around a different city where I haven’t been before, I look for the little things which make it different, like the traffic etiquette, how the houses and apartments are organised with access, mail, parking, the green areas, parks, seats along the scenic views. This city is very customer friendly, with its trams very frequently, well positioned stops, the only thing I’ve noticed is that bikes rule, they can appear anywhere….

And the eating out choices are divine. Could only afford Burger King tonite tho…even that was over 20 bucks! Very nice it was too…better than back home.

Surprisingly, several of the cafes didn’t have EFTPOS, just cash. Strange, because back home everything is plastic money.

OK better try getting some more sleep…Lucern tomorrow….byeeeee

OK

Plastic costs businesses money usually. Who knows what the banking regulations are. Glad you are having a good time. I wish when I was single that I had been brave enough to take off by myself.

WOW! $20 for Burger King!! That should have been one hell of a burger!!! LOL Hugs,M

I hope you are taking photos. Zurich is supposed to be such a beautiful place.

You make me want to travel more.

Sounds like a great place to visit. Unusual for any place these days to not take plastic. Even our little produce markets on the side of the road in Texas accept cards, probably prefer it actually over cash.

maybe the bank charges for using plastic there is as high as the prices seem to be for food! there are several places here in my small town that don’t take plastic they say they can’t afford the fee’s the CC company’s charge fore each transaction… 🙁

Wow,I had a dollar menu meal from Macdonalds for just over $3. $20! Piazza from my son ‘s favorite place can cost that much, though.

It’s really hot here at the moment too!! Hope you get a good sleep. Take care.
