Whirlwind of a weekend

As an update to my previous entry, I’ve decided not to take the position. I talked it over with our TSM the other day, and he agreed it was better for me to stay local for now. I wouldn’t make enough to live off of, and the truck is the only reliable vehicle we have for now. Since then, I applied to one of the mall stores; I’m supposed to hear back from them soon.

I do have a guaranteed job, though. It is at a Sears store similar to ours, but it would only be part time. It would only be 20 minutes from my house, so the commute wouldn’t be too bad.

I had an adventurous weekend to say the least. Friday was payday, but my front passenger tire was flat on the truck. My co-worker and I tried to change the tire, but we were unable to access the spare tire. We decided to go to the local auto store and buy a fix-a-flat. We made it back to the truck after inflating the tire. I had a friend of mine tail me to the local Mexican restaurant to ensure everything was fine.

I was able to make it to the restaurant fine and picked up our order. My mom wanted a strawberry milkshake, so I stopped by the local DQ and picked up a butterfinger blizzard in the interim. Unfortunately, my tire was flat again. I walked to the nearest Kroger’s and purchased two cans of Fix-a-Flats. By this time, it was going on 10 p.m. I was tired, hungry and just ready to make it home.

I made it home safely and was able to enjoy my dinner at least. Since I had the weekend off, I took the Suburban to a local tire place to have it fixed. The mechanic suggested I buy two tires ($45 each), so I went ahead with the purchase. After the tires were put in place, I went to the nearest Wal-Mart for groceries. I came home, put away the groceries and had Subway for lunch. I took a short nap and lazied around the rest of the day. My mom told me that the tire was flat on the Suburban. It was actually the tire on the driver’s side that was flat. I’ve already called the tire place and told them about the tire. I’m supposed to bring it to the tire place tomorrow, but I’ve already spent about $50 on fix-a-flat, another $70 in gas, and $100 on new tires. NOT a great weekend, fortunately, I’m still in good spirits though my allergies have been keeping me up all night.

BTW, has anyone heard from Monika (Captivating Dancer)? I just randomly thought about her today while listening to music. I haven’t heard from her since late Feb(?) when she mentioned her moving in with her mom.

Anyway, I’m going to get off of here and catch up on some netflix.

And this is why we learned to have an emergency fund.. LOL. I’m sorry all that annoying stuff happened though! But I’m glad it didn’t go flat on the road while you were driving and cause you to have an accident.
