She said yes!

I have so much to catch you guys up on, but I am running short of time. I needed to update about Trey and his girl finally getting engaged last night!

He sent me a fb message in mid August saying he ordered the engagement ring. He wanted me to swear secrecy and not tell anyone in order to keep the surprise. Unfortunately, the vendor took longer than expected for the ring to ship. When the ring finally arrived, he wanted to wait until mid-September before proposing.

Everytime he went to propose, something would come up preventing him from going with his plan. It didn’t help that his girlfriend didn’t like September because too many bad things had happened in her past. She also didn’t like big crowds, so it didn’t take long for his first plan to fail.

Yesterday, he sent me a text out of the blue saying how frustrated he was because he was given grief for not proposing. His girlfriend works in a bank, so all of her co-workers and customers would hound her with questions about why he hadn’t proposed yet. She would then argue with him about that leaving him frustrated. He wanted to propose last week but no one was available to babysit her two kids.

So last night, he asked me if I would babysit her daughter while they go out on a date. I told him I knew how much it meant to him, so I had no problem babysitting. Her daughter was a sweetheart, but boy was she talkative! lol She’s a 3rd grader, and I had a lot of fun hanging out with her. She finally went to bed around 10:30 and wanted me to tuck her in. They went to a beautiful restaurant in north Atlanta where he popped the question. I am happy for them and glad he was able to finally propose without something else going wrong :-).

I have more to write, but I will save that for later. Time to go to work!
