Reflection on my writing thus far

I love writing stories. The only problem I’ve had is continuing them. The last major story I worked on dealt with Catherine, Dahliah and the gang. That was scraped because I did not like how it was turning out. I am thrilled to be working on this current story. Well, perhaps I should call it a book *giggles*. The thought of going professional has entertained me but I don’t think I would do it. I know it takes lots of time to write a book and numerous editing and proofreading, so I don’t know. When I get an idea (usually from a dream, or just thinking), I can write freely. I love that talent because I can just write as my fingers dance around the keyboards. I do not like to write on paper for some reason. If I get really excited, my writing might look sloopy; plus my hand would probably fall off. I am not aware of how many pages I’ve written so far but I’m sure it’s between 40-60 pages.

I love to write because you can turn your characters out in any way you want. It’s also great to hide messages you want to tell someone in your stories. In fact, if you look back at Chapter 8, the entire chat between allison and victor is the message I wanted to send to Liz. Everything that was said in that conversation is true. In the past few chapters, I have included things that has happened in my life: breakups, revelations, etc. Chapter 8 is the last chapter that will deal with my past.

BTW, Sarah guessed correctly about the Carol/Allison link. When Allison said, ‘she is my ray of light’, that was a direct reference to [BeautifulRayofLight] (that’s her nickname given to her by [Beautiful*Starr].

Anyway, I came up with that chapter while I was eating at Taco Bell. I was soo excited to get home and write that chapter up. The only flaw in my writing is that I don’t organize my writing like I should, and I do not proofread it often. For so long, if I was handed an essay topic, I would just write and turn it in. I would not write a rough draft, brainstorm, or organize the material effectively. It wasn’t until my English 1102 professor that I started doing those things. My grades went up because of that.

With my stories, I write them for entertainment. I love getting feedback on them because it means I am doing a good job and people are loving what I write. Who knows. Maybe I could cut it to be a professional hehe. Imagine if I did…you guys would pick up copies of a book by me and go, ‘hey! that was Big Joe back in the day’ *giggles*. Hehe you would brag that you know the author before he was famous. Nah, I don’t know if I would pursue that you know?

There is definately something to be said about having those hidden messages in your writing, even if you’re the only person who will ever “get” it.

I wish I was able to write like you do, but I find it hard to think of a story-line that isn’t really dull or pointless. I’m more of a poetry writer myself!

hey you are very talented when it comes to writing……your stories do always make me think about past relationship i have had and it always keeps guessing and wondering what will happen next maybe one day you will become a famous writer and dont worry ill probably be one of your biggest fans lol talk to you later 🙂 Jocelyn

Oh wow Im a Capricorn as well, and I like in Milledgeville. It sucks, its a little small town that has nothing and everyone is rude here, I hate it. My sister lives in Atl and I used to, thats where most my family is. Do you have yahoo messanger or ICQ?

I can write hours and hours of meaningless mumbo jumbo when I’m typing. If I were to pick up a pencil I’d go blank. lol You have a talent that you may not want to go to waste, consider that =)

Writing’s one of those things, sometimes it comes easily and other times you struggle to write a single paragraph. Good luck always Joe! Thankyou for your kind notes. :0)

Ryn: I hope the ending goes over well =)

Ryn: Your welcome =)
