Reason why I dislike this book…

I just typed this to Christina, but this is what I have to deal with:

The optimists include the likes of Charles Maynes, who has decried “the new pessimism”; Julian Simon, who posits “no limit in sight,” environmental or otherwise, for American and the rest of the planet; Max Singer and Aaron Wildavsky, whose The Real World Order envisions the current “zone of peace” inhabited by the United States and other Northern Hemisphere states (Yugoslavia aside)eventually extending into an replacing the current “zone of turmoil” inhabited by much of the South; Allan Goodman, whose A Brief History of the Future heralds the twenty-first century as an era that “will encompasss the longest priod of peace, democracy, and economic development in history”; John Muelle, who foresees “the obsolescence of major war,” and James Lee Ray, who see “the ned of international war” altogether; and Francis Fukuyama, who by 1989 had already proclaimed that “the end of history” had occurred with the final triumph of western liberal democracy and free-market capitalism over all other competitors.

THAT is one sentence.

Anyway, I came home around 10:17 and began working on my assignments for next week. Right now, I have 9 pages to go in chapter 4 of American Government, and 5 pages in Astronomy so I’m way ahead of the class in that respect. I’m doing this so that when the weekend comes, I won’t have much to do and I can just chill out and do whatever.

I’ve been meaning to write this, but I just forgot about it. My roommates are really cool. I know where two of them are from, but I don’t know where the other one is from. Here’s a little background…

On Sunday 18, I met Shane and Michael. I was very excited to finally meet my new roomies face to face since I had a couple of phone conversations before that day. When we met up, I introduced myself to them and yadda yadda but I still didn’t know who my third roomie was. Around 7 that evening, I noticed this tall guy entering our apartment. Turns out, it was the fourth roomie Justin. Coming into the weekend, he didn’t know he was living in the Village until Saturday (I think). The people called him up and said he could move in so he did. After that, we met up and he bought a shower curtain and we chit chatted a little bit before the mandatory floor meeting.

On Tuesday, Shane and I talked about past roommates, New York, and that sort of thing. We were both eating pasta–his homemade, mine was the pasta anytime meal–so it was nice. Sunday, Michael and I were in my room playing video games and he got all into the games hehe. I love my roomies because I can talk to anyone of them without feeling I don’t know how to describe it but you know. We all love video games, Shane and I love R&B (I think Michael does too but I’m not sure), and we all have the same view on how an apartment should be cleaned. I have also met Justin’s g/f, but I don’t know her name. All I know is that she’s from Manhattan and is down here for the summer (she brought him groceries out of love awww *smiles*).

Compared to my roomies from last year, I’d have to say these guys are definately a step up compared to the one I had last year. Last year, Jacob was rarely home but he was at his g/f’s apartment (which was next door). Christian and Dantrell were always hanging out together. Perhaps the reason why I feel more at ease with my current roomies is because I have more experience sharing an apartment with others. I am truly lucky these first two years :-).

that one sentance is enough to kill ya!

Wow, thats a long sentence! Your room mates sounds really great, I’m glad that you are getting on with them! Knowing my luck, when I go to Uni I’ll probably get stuck with a load of scary people!
