Orientation
I had a pretty good break over the past week. Even though I had accepted the job at the mall, I still had to wait for my background and drug test to come back clean. I was slightly worried though. On my offer letter, they said my start date would be the 13th. Fortunately, it’s just a mere formality, so my official start date was Wednesday.
I went to the orientation with Javon, and we sat down with the HR manager and went over the rules and policies. I really like her so far! She said that everyone is fairly laid back, and it is a fun atmosphere to work at. We will be in training for two weeks, but there is no schedule made out for us. We have total control over when we want to come in. She said that we can work up to 40 hours if we want to. We were also officially on the payroll Wednesday, so we would be paid for the three hours. We are able to come and go as we please.
We were also given a tour of the entire store. I am in love with their break room! I also had a chance to meet a couple of my new co-workers as well. I plan on working today and saturday, probably take sunday and thursday off next week as well. I’ll get my final check from Covington next Friday, and then I’ll get my first check from the mall on the 20th. I’ll get paid one more time before my trip to Chicago.
So far, I don’t have any plans for Easter. I believe my sister is fixing dinner, so we’ll probably go over to her house.
I need to get going and get ready for work. Have a great Easter!
Sounds like this new place is going to be a good fit for you in many ways. Yay!
