Long Day

I had so much fun yesterday :-). I purchased a new digital camera, met Kareem Abdul Jabbar at the studio, and I went to the Hawks vs Nuggets game at Philips Arena.

Every Wednesday, I have interned at 680 the Fan as a video man. My main task is to film a segment or two for the midday radio show “Chuck and Chernoff”. I’ll film radio segments or film stuff that occurs during the commercial breaks. When I met with the afternoon producer last Monday, he told me to be here on the 16th because Kareem would be in studio. Unfortunately, the same producer was fired earlier this week :-(.

Before Kareem showed up, I went on stubhub to look up tickets for the hawks game. I was surprised to see sooo many tickets going for $1. I was more surprised to see a lower level seat going for $12.45!! I decided to purchase a ticket on a whim.

Anyway, Kareem was scheduled to be on the air at 1 p.m .he didn’t show up until 1:14ish. He was quickly ushered in to the studio and began talking on air about his life. During the commercial break, I had a chance to snap a few photos of him:

He stayed until 1:30 and then left. I spent the next hour and a half uploading the vids to the show’s youtube site. I was done at the studio at 2:30, and the game didn’t start until 7 p.m. To kill time, I went to Brandsmart USA to look at camcorders. I ended up getting a Samsung TL105 camera for $122 after taxes. The salesman threw in a camera bag and 2 gig memory for free.

I like the camera so far. I don’t really need a fancy camera, but I love how small it feels. I did take some pictures at the game for a test.

The game itself was crappy. We started out great to begin the game. Unfortunately, we were blown out :-(. After the game, I went to my cousin’s house to put our deposit down for the connecticut plane tickets. I then came home and crashed at midnight.

Well, I’m going to get out of here. It’s too pretty to be inside all day :-P.
