Fire Alarms and the Elevator

I wonder why is it that a lot of people can simply dismiss a fire alarm like it’s nothing? Last night, there was another fire alarm. This time, the alarm happened around 10:30ish. I remember my three roommates were like, ‘we’re not going to go out there’. Well, with the exception of one incident, I have always went outside when I heard the fire alarm. You never know when if there is a real fire; it would be even worst if the fire happened and you couldn’t escape.

Anyway…another thing that annoys me, is when people use the elevator to ride from the first floor to the second floor! I’m the kind of person that will walk up 4 flights of stairs and take the stairs instead of the escalator.

I just came from El Charo’s Mexican Restaurant. There, I saw Mrs. Marks (12th grade AP Brit Lit teacher), Mrs. Fuchs, my French teacher from 9-11 grade and Jessica Simpson. Jessica and I were good friends back in middle school but we kind of lost touch. Anyway, she has a 6 month old child named Jackson. She’s planing on going to a tech school pretty soon.

In a little bit, I’m going to start working on chapter 7. I’m hoping to have it completed by the end of the night and post it tonight as well. Oh yeah, the story will have some real life elements in the mix. For example, Allison Walden shares the last name of one of my ex, Danielle Walden. I think it’s always interesting for an author to include anything that happened to her in real life. BTW, speaking of authors, check out Liz’s diary at Young Author (no underscore, just a space) on FOD. She’s working on a book and is on Chapter 22 right now. Read it and leave her notes.

That always amazed me, the fact thatt everyone was so blase about the whole fire alarm situation. I think I could count on 3 fingers the no. of times I didn’t go out. Besides, who would want to get caught and have to pay a fine? do they still find you if you don’t go out? I remember the alarm went off in Nov/Dec and I fogot my coat and it was freezing out. So yeah, it’s a good practice to go out.

I always go outside when the fire alarm goes off because, well, you never know if it’s the real thing or not. In high school out fire alarms used to go off all the time, and there were a few times when there actually were real fires.
