Day 30 Challenge #12

Day 12 – Your current relationship, if single discuss how single life is

I am currently single by choice. Over the past couple of years, I’ve started dating online with a little success. I went on dates with Amber, Andrea and Fe during that time. Each one started off with some promise, but the courtship only lasted a month. Ever since last year, I’ve made a concentrated effort to find someone who lives in my town. Most of the people I’ve talked to live at least 20 miles away from me. None of them would meet me halfway. Ideally, I would love to find someone who lives within 10 miles of me.

The single life has its ups and downs. I am content for the most part. It does suck spending a lot of alone time since most of my friends are in relationships. I have to schedule my free time around their schedule in order to hang out. For example, I can only hang out with Crystal if her husband if off the same day I am. Since his schedule is crazier than mine, we can only hangout once a month if that. Trey and his fiance are usually busy, and Ana lives two hours away.

I do feel lonely sometimes, but I try really hard not to let it get me down. Reading fb statuses about couples doesn’t depress me. Especially since it’s winter and everyone is “bood” up lol. Even though I haven’t had an actual girlfriend in five years, I am not envious of anyone. Like Trey getting engaged, Ana in a new relationship, it actually makes me happy seeing my friends in healthy relationships.

I try not to write too much about my single status because I am not the woe-is-me type. Working two jobs doesn’t help much either because I only have time to work, eat, work, sleep and repeat. Most of the customers who walk into Sears are older customers, and I’m never with a customer long enough to even get to know them at Domino’s. Plus, I feel like it would be inappropriate anyway lol. None of my friends are willing to set me up with anyone, so I’m stuck to looking through online profiles. I just haven’t found anyone I can really see myself being with for the time being.

Well, time to wrap this up and finish up my laundry.
