A Profound Conversation
I’m enjoying my classes right now. In Astronomy, I’m participating far more than I did in the beginning of the year. I’m asking all kinds of questions and it’s great. Perhaps it’s because I got an 82 on the last test; maybe it’s beause I’m taking what I know and inquire about another planet or something. As for my other classes, they are going pretty good. I have a big quiz on the Bosnia conflict Tuesday and a test in American Government on Thursday. I spent more time reading info on the Bosnia situation for the past two days while spending a little bit on the American Government test.
Anyway, yesterday something great happened to me but I’m not going to say it just yet because I want to take a pic first. I only have three more pics to take in my camera and then I’ll get them developed :-).
Also yesterday, Amber fell backwards in a high chair at El Charo’s. Luckily she was alright. I meant to go to the Eastside football game but I ended up going to Newton’s game. My ex, Danielle, plays in the band there so I saw her. I didn’t speak to her at all though. Maybe I’ll explain a little bit about why I didn’t speak to her.
I mentioned before a little about our history so I won’t get into that. Instead, we usually meet up every so often. However, I don’t want it to seem that I want to open up any line of communication. She previously had given me her number and I tried calling but I never received an answer. Her other number is in the phone book but I’m not going to call her there either. I would like for us to talk, but I’m not going to.
On to other news. I spent most of the day with Trey. We spent time playing PS2 and watching a little bit of college football. We wrapped up the evening with a discussion on America and the whole Iraq situation. I’m not going to go too far in depth with what we said because we did talk about some stuff that would frighten a lot of people (or at least worry some). We both agreed that America is paranoid, but there were some things we disagreed on. It’s interesting that he thinks America is to be blamed for a lot of stuff, but in all actuality, some of the blame can be placed on the UN’s Security Council. Anyway, I love this country because we can wake up each morning having a fresh start. There are lots of countries out there who doesn’t experience a lot of terror.
There is one thing I don’t understand. How is it that people can kill others just because of various differences?
Here’s a quote from Bill Clinton’s interview with Dan Rather, “And what is the dominant problem of our time? From the Middle East to Northern Ireland to Bosnia to central Africa, people still wanting to kill each other because of their racial and religious, their ethnic, their cultural differences.”
I don’t understand how people can kill each other in general, don’t they even consider that the person they are killing has a family and friends? It’s scary what some people will do.
