Altoids

My back and shoulders are sufficiently sore which means yoga did the trick! It was challenging, that’s for sure…. I’ve clearly lost a LOT of my skillz. I had gone pretty much 2-3 times a week for two months back in February/March, and had become pretty knowledgeable, enough to go to level II classes. Now, not so much. Last night I went to a level I-II class and half the time I was like, “Wait, what??” Thank god there were yogis galore around me so I just took little peeks at them every once in awhile to know what I was doing. For the most part, though, it was good.

And holy Planksy McPlanksalot…. she had us doing so many planks and variations of planks I thought my arms were going to fall off. No wonder my back and shoulders are sore.

This is going to be great, because I haven’t had any sort of strengthening exercise for my arms since, well, last time I did yoga.

Soccer (?? WHY am I doing soccer) starts January 2nd, which will be great cardio/running, and with the yoga, dudettes/dudes, I will be in fine shape for Hawaii in February.

I am still 10 pounds lighter than I was at my heaviest not that long ago. The weight I’m at now is my normal, but I’d like to be 10 pounds lighter. Who wouldn’t, really, but I REALLY would.

I asked my mom if she would like to stay in Maui with me for a couple days in February. She sounded noncommittal and I’m like, WHY wouldn’t you want to do that?! It’s a vacation that’s already been planned and all you need is a plane ticket. DO IT. She would be awesome to have with me. She drinks, she relaxes at the pool, she’ll go for walks on the beach with me and maybe a hike…. plus she would pay for meals. I’m not sure how this isn’t a win/win for her. I will put the pressure on, pretty soon. Because even though I do want a few days to myself, it would be great to have someone there to do non-solo activities with. Like drink. There. I said it.

Yesterday I ate (yes we’re back to this):

Breakfast – Whole Grain english muffin w/butter (193 cals)

Lunch – Salad w/carrot, broccoli, tomatoes, sunflower seeds and light champagne vinaigrette (gotta get champagne in where i can) (149 cals)

Snacks – Peanut butter chocolate bar from Tully’s (160 cals); 6 altoids (20 cals)
Dinner – whole grain english muffin w/butter, 2 fried eggs

Exercise:

40 minute walk during lunch, 3.5 mph – 181 cals burned

90 minutes hatha flow yoga – 246 cals burned

Total: 900 food calories minus 427 exercise calories = net 473 calories. Not enough, but I seriously couldn’t have eaten more if I wanted to. Three meals, all substantial and made of whole foods (butter is a whole food, same with peanut butter chocolate bars, right?! ALTOIDS?!).

Commercial over.

Today I’m going to yoga again. at 7p. I’m going to walk at lunch too in the 30 degree weather (brrrr).

I left my pack of cigarettes at home because I was getting in the habit of having a cigarette during lunch and I CAN’T DO THAT. Smoking is sick and it smells bad. Yucky.

Mmmmmkie dokie artichokies, I’m outtie.

I am just getting back to tracking properly on MFP. I’m glad that a lot more people I know are using it now. I am still so jealous that you get to go to Maui.

Oh, neat. About Hawaii. I had this very detailed dream just a few hours ago before reading this, all about being in Hawaii with my mom and sister! We actually did that for two weeks, once, staying mostly in Maui. Here I had this big long dream about navigating the Hawaiian islands and trying to stay sane with my Big Crazy Sis there…and then I wake up and it’s only natural that you’re talking about it too! And yes, it struck me as odd that your mom didn’t say “I’m going! Count me in!” Of course, she’s probably worried about the world collapsing if she dare take a trip. It’s a mom thing.

Yes! Gogo diet tracking and working out!! I bet writing it down helps you stay motivated to keep it up. I need to get me some of that :).

Glad the Yoga is going to kick your ass 🙂 haha. That’s always fun!

If your mom’s noncommittal about MAUI, I know we literally know each other not at all, but I will always say yes to sunshine & HAWAII.

So I have no idea if I’ve ever actually commented on your diary, BUT, I’ve been following you for a few months (or longer, I have no concept of time) because your life is more interesting than mine. Or in the very least, different than mine. Would it be very strange for me to add you to MFP? I want more friends! Haha.
