Bellamafia, the Intern
“Being rich isn’t about money. Being rich is a state of mind. Some of us, no matter how much money we have, will never be free enough to take time to stop and eat the heart of a watermelon. And some of us will be rich without ever being more than a paycheck ahead of the game.” ~Harvey Mackay
I didn’t sleep very well last night and I think it was because I was nervous. I woke up at 2 in the morning and then again at 6. I hate it when I wake up a few minutes before my alarm goes off. It’s as if I’m cheated on precious sleep. Like those extra ten minutes are going to make the day more manageable. I watched my alarm clock click the minutes until 6:30 and then got up. Was going to work out in the living room, but I thought I might give the blister on my heel a little time to heal.
Instead, I made breakfast and did some reading. Then I got ready for my internship. Busted out the beautiful black business suit that is incredibly beautiful. I left my flat at 8:30, giving myself an hour and a half to make it to the city to the north. I wasn’t sure if there would still be rush hour traffic when I got up there. Well, I arrived at 9:20. It was a good thing I brought a book. I sat in the parking lot and read until 9:50. I’ll leave at 8:45 on Tuesday, see how that does it.
Well, I was quite nervous at first, but as the day wore on, I felt much calmer. The morning was spent reading over the hospital’s writing style guide and the glossary of medical terms. Man, I can explain a lot of medical terms to you now. They gave me a tour of the hospital and showed me the doctor’s lounge. Which is the nearest bathroom to our office, so I get to use their bathroom. Not very many cute doctors, but there were one or two.
I spent the afternoon prepping door prizes for a convention they are having tomorrow. Then I made some signs for the convention and also typed up a document for my boss. I have two bosses, a man and a woman. They are both lovely people and I feel really welcome and comfortable around them. While I was prepping the door prizes, the president of the hospital came into our small office. He seems like a nice man, but I couldn’t tell. I only shook the man’s hand.
Parents arrived back from Mexico today. They had a grand time and I got to hear about all of their adventures. They brought back some Talavera for me. I’m so excited. When I studied in Mexico I fell in love with Talavera and brought some back. Well, my mother found some while they were down there and bought a piece for me and a piece for my sister-in-law. I’m excited to see it.
I think I should clarify the whole Boston thing. Big C moved to Boston for his job in September. I promised him I would come and visit him sometime. Well, I’ve decided to go the first weekend of Spring Break. I’ve been thinking about this for a while and I finally did something about it. I’ll leave on the 16th and stay for five days. I’m so excited.
glad the first day went so well! that’s usually the hardest. =)

Glad that the people at the internship seem to be nice so far. It makes a big difference. RYN: Maybe it was stress, maybe it was just because I was too horny and needed to do something about it, who knows. 🙂

RYN: Rainy weather is fine, as long as I don’t have to walk around outside a lot… Mr. Model?? Hardly. 🙂

You don’t know me, but you may know my son. He had a diary here, and gave me some names of people to contact and you were one of them. He wants you to have his e-mail:radiationraven@yahoo.com. He won’t be released for some time, so he may not get back to you right away, but he wanted me to tell you he is alive and well, and to say “Thank You.”–Raven’s-Wood’s Dad.
