Princess Grace Foundation Gala…

Last night was a very entertaining evening, on many levels.

First of all, Charlene looked lovely.  She killed in a Ralph Lauren gown:

For all her title and position, she was a nervous wreck when she gave her speech.  Speaking with her afterwards, she said to me, "I really did a terrible job, I was so nervous!"  I assured her that her natural charm overcame any butterflies.

These events are always a great place to see Mutton Dressed as Lamb, and Adventures in Bad Plastic Surgery.  Lynn Wyatt, we decided, asked her plastic surgeon to do something a day early for Halloween:

And I bet her body looked great in that dress 40 years ago.  But now it just screams – "MISTAKE!"  Another train wreck was Tuna Koprulu (yes, that’s her name):

If there’s any justice, her plastic surgeon got the electric chair.  I’ll settle for life in prison for whoever sold her that outfit.  Award winner Cicely Tyson was also traffic-stopping in her overdone creation:

You can carry ruffles until you’re about 16.  After that, it just gets sad.

I think it’s nice to see people in their best and out to support a great cause. Princess Charlene is just beyond fantastic though – too bad we all can’t all look like models, swim like Olympians, and marry royalty. 🙂

A few ruffles can look elegant when done right. But that’s overkill, which is a pity.

Just goes to show that elegance and money don’t always go together. I wonder how much these women spent to look so horrible-better that money were donated to the cause!

I bet you had fun watching all these people.

Thinking of you as I prepare your cranberry compote. 6th year in a row, I believe. Thank you over and over again!
