I must check in more often…

Is it my imagination, or has this site just withered on the vine?  I don’t think we have less to say, but perhaps we have better places to say it?  It certainly seems that many diarists I often read have gone AWOL or are posting much less frequently.

In any case, that lovely charcuterie has begun to mature to the point where we get to enjoy it.

The garlic porcini salame and saucisson sec, sliced to show the interior.

The garlic porcini salame and saucisson sec presented with pickled peppers, figs and tomatoes.  For our first attempt, the results far exceeded our expectations.  Needless to say, a second, larger batch is in the works.

It’s great to see you here. I fear this place is going to the dogs. There’s quite a lot of fat in the saucisson, no?

Words fail me. that looks awesome. All air dried? OD waxes and wanes. I don’t pay much attention anymore. I just bookmark to my favorites page and don’t worry much.

YES, you must check in more often! (LOL) I have missed your wonderful, entertaining, educating entries. I know, life gets very hectic at times, but please don’t forget your fans here on OD!

That looks delicious!

That looks delicious 🙂 I don’t stop in here often anymore either. I fear you’re right about it withering on the vine. Hard for me to give up completly though when I have been writing and reading here for so many years. I expect it is the same for many. Take care,

I forgot that you were making this and was confused for a moment on what it was… now that I have wrapped my brain around it, it looks delicious! Im sad that something I have maintained for nearly 11 years seems to be on its last legs.

wowww, this look beautiful! Congratulations with your effort. We make kudu salamis in winter, but it looks more like the ‘ordinary’ salamis. Yours look really great. Well done!

I’ve recently came back, my “Wife” has also recently came back, and a few of my other OD friends have magically all started posting right about the same time…it’s something in the Universe – this is a good sign. 🙂

I’ve posted every day since the first of the year. I like being here more. I do miss a lot of people but I suppose part of that is because time goes by and we don’t stay the same… in any phase of our lives.
