so much to do… you know the rest.*

I have a TON of planning to do!  a TON!  The principal who contacted me about this position couldn’t have been more wrong about how "scripted" the curriculum for science 8 in summer school is.. because, frankly, it isn’t.  Oh sure, they gave me this lovely little green folder that contains the curriculum for 8th grade science in the NF school district.  But scripted, I think not.

I do have an outline of what to teach.. in what order.. but how? well, that’s up to me.  It’s a lot of work, but I kind of like it.  I went to at "teacher store" today and purchased a ginormous book full of lovely worksheets to use.  I wanted it anyway and I know it will come in handy so I didn’t mind spending the money.  And.. another teacher is going to find all her 8th grade materials for me, so hopefully I"ll have plenty of materials/resources to plan with.  I’m actually excited, but a bit overwhelmed too.

The full time job hunt doesn’t seem to be going too spectacularly at the moment.  I really don’t think that I want to teach at the detention center.  I hated teaching at the alternative middle school.  I simply felt that I was unable to really do a good job with them.   There was only discipline and classroom management going on, no teaching.  At least, not enough to satisfy me.  I could never last in that job and I don’t believe a job at the detention center would be much better.  I also haven’t heard a word about the position, so i’m kind of getting nervous as to whether or not i’m really going to be getting the 2nd interview I was promised.  We’ll see what happens.  Although I don’t really want to work there, I’d rather work period, than be unemployed.

I’m also going to apply to teach/substitute at the NF school district.  I am meeting many of the principals there through summer school and this school district just seems to hire their subs, no interviews at all.  I need to get my hat in the ring, especially since it is only 10 min. or so from my house.

ok i guess that’s all I have for now.  I"m exhausted and I really do want to get some things done tonight although I don’t see much productivity in my future.

EDIT** First day down, 24 left to go! lol! I love this!!!!!!!******
