sickness, Christmas, and grades

so, yeah i am sick.  I went into work yesterday, taught one class and went home.  I have no voice at all.  I’ve also become short of breath REALLY easily.  It’s pretty strange.  but i went to Immediate Care yesterday and they said that my lungs sounded clear.  I should have had them do a chest x-ray.  however, she said if it is bronchitis too, then it would be the same antibiotic she was prescribing for my sinusitis anyway.  so yeah, i’m home.. AGAIN.  and i think i’m out of sick days, so i doubt i’m being paid today.  not good being as it’s only weeks from Christmas and my children are accustomed to a thorough Christmas spoiling.. =)  i’m not worried though, I will make it work.

Those of you with girlies about Maya and Paige’s ages, what are they getting this year?  (as a reminder for those that don’t know, maya is 6 and Paige turned 5 yesterday).  My girls want Nintendo DS’s,and, yes, they are probably getting them.  I know they will use and not abuse them. right now, they have VSmile Pocket hand helds and they play them on and off, but they are far from being "video gamers" and i won’t let it get out of hand.  So, DS’s will be their big gift this year.  I’m hoping to pick them up for $98 each at WalMart on Black Friday morning.  We’ll see how i do.  =) 

they are also asking for an Easy Bake Oven and Chixos, among other things.. what’s popular at your house?

Work is kind of annoying to me lately.  I had to go in again today for a bit even though i called in so i could put in the student’s 10-week grades.  that’s all well and good except i have had a few students on home instruction due to suspensions and no one would give me a straight answer about how to grade them for the quarter.  so i did my best, but when i get done writing this i need to call City Hall (school board offices) and try to get home instructor’s numbers to find out if i did the right thing or need their grades to be adjusted  before they are officially submitted, printed, sent to parents, and are on their permanent records.

It’s funny that although i obviously know i’m a teacher, I find it strange when i think that years in the future some kids are going to remember having Ms. Dona*** for 7th or 8th grade science..  When did i get so grown up?  lol

ok i’m off to make my phone calls and try to rest..

oh and i had to cancel my plans to see New Moon at midnight tonight due to this crappy sickness.. boo!
