i hate my job.
really, i do.
i’m trying not to.
but i do.
the kids are horrible.. well some of them are.. well actually, no one is actually horrible, just when combined in groups together to form a class.. then the mix, well.. is horrible. If you can understand that jumbled thought!
I’ve had tough kids before. MANY of them, but never was there pressure to make them perform, or NEVER was it thought to be MY FAULT if kids were not doing as they were told. Here, that is the general mentality.
all in all, this school and I are just not a good fit.
I’m hoping to get through this year, and hopefully get transferred to another building.. which may or may not be better than this one. Not sure if I will be able to get a different position or not. we’ll see.
better yet would be to be hired by a suburban or rural school district with little to no discipline problems. at least not anywhere near the number of behaviors that I see on a daily basis.
So, yeah, work has me in a stressed out tizzy about…. 80.3% of the time.. other than that..
life is good.
That sucks…=o( I hope you can turn it around and that things get better for you and the students…so that there is a better flow to things.

ratings for the district have to suffer because of it. i hope it’s not too horrible for you, i know you were really looking forward to it. =(

Rural doesn’t necessarily equal better (or less discipline issues). When you deal with rural and poorer populations it can be much worse even then urban schools. Trust me, as an AP at a high school in a rural area is 95% discipline problems along with simple crowd control. Hang in there, they are testing you, it might get better.

I commend you for all the hard work you put into your job. It must be so draining. It’s appreciated by me, a country away, even if not by the students who you work so hard to enlighten. <3
