Worst Date Ever – Post Script

I had deemed that night a disaster and never wanted to revisit it, but I did want to apologize to Suzanne for it. I wrote her a quick not saying I was sorry for everything from my brother, to the movie to the gang war.. That was it., Pretty much saying "That was bad. Have a nice life." Then I would wipe my hands of the whole ordeal and move on.

Sh wrote me a note back and handed it to me by the end of the day. It stated that everything was okay and not my fault. The guys did scare her a little bit, blah, blah, blah…   P.S. Do we have a relationship?

I didn’t know how to respond to that.. So I did what any guy would do: Hang out with my friends and crack jokes about it all day. I don’t remember how it happened, but George or Darlene or someone convinced me to give it another shot. Reluctantly, I agreed to meet up with her for the school’s "Sports Night" where all the different grades compete against each other. We sat in their grade’s section. All of Suzanne’s friends were pushing her to do something. I don’t recall what exactly, but she was getting frustrated and kept running off away from everyone . Her friends were annoying. Even I decided to move away. I actually think I was looking for a way off the bleachers entirely.

At one point Suzanne came over and said "They told me to sit next to you." That was my breaking point. I was done. I told her as much. First chance I got, I went to my own grade’s section and vowed never to subject myself to that again.

that’s true, a lot of those other events weren’t on purpose, most were pure accidents. maybe that’s what made it so much worse, it was an attack as opposed to an accident … seeing ppl dropping from the top floors is still the most haunting part of it all ..
