Snow and Baseball Always Work Well Together
The first weekend of April came and with it was supposed to be nicer weather. Instead we got an unexpected blizzard.
Of course, weather concerns were not even on my radar. Eric and his weird secret job was bringing him out my way once again, only this time he thought it was only fair that he come up to me rather than me drive down there. As long as he got back to Colorado Springs by Sunday night.
Eric drove up Friday night and we hung out downtown at some local bars. He wanted to go to Sing-Sings, the piano bar he enjoyed so much when he was in town a few years back. It lacked the same magic it had back then and just seemed ‘dingy’. Rather than going out again Sat night, we decided to host an impromptu party.

We had a pretty large turnout for a party that was 12 hours in the making… This particular weekend I was on the ‘outs’ with Rachel, so she was not in attendance, but many others were. It was actually so popular that a large group ended up staying the night only to be snowed in the next morning. We woke up to three feet of snow.
The funny thing was I had a Fantasy Baseball draft I was supposed to go to that morning. Alan was supposed to go too, but his car was trapped in the parking lot. He called and asked if he could get a ride with me as I had a 4×4 Jeep. So at 8:30 in the morning he and I were on our way down to Parker, CO.
Hours later, when I finally got back home, there were still people partying at my apartment. It was low-key and they were just watching a movie. They had closed down I-25 which was the only road Eric could take to get back to the Springs. By 6:00, he said ‘Fuck It’ and drove his rental car back anyway. According to him, he destroyed that car in the process, but he made it back. Granted, it was a 4 hour trip that normally took 45 minutes.
