Leslie

At work changes were a foot yet again… After Eric had left the bank we had a few people come and go in that position in the wire transfer and ACH department. Most recently, Alan was doing that job and acting as supervisor for the back room operations after the previous girl, Leslie was fired abruptly.

Leslie was no big loss. I did not care for her at all. She was gross. Everything about her. She was a single mother with 7 children with 5 or six guys and insisted that she tried for and wanted each and every one of them. None of them were well behaved or even moderately supervised when she brought them into work. She was a liar. When something wasn’t done and I ask her about it, she’d tell me it was done. When I checked for myself, as I would do after I asked, I would see it was not done. At that point she would tell me she didn’t do it because she didn’t know how. That is the same as it was done HOW?!?! If somebody sends you money and you don’t get it, someone will come asking about it. It’s only a matter of when. This part of her job was not optional.

I hated her. My boss, Cathleen, loved her. Until the day we found out that social security payments that came into the bank to customers who had died were somehow going into her account instead of being sent back to the government. Stealing from dead people. I remember Dick ripping into her big time.  I also remember him saying that if anyone called him to verify proof of employment will be told exactly what she did despite it being illegal to do so. I was just happy to see her go.

Looking back now there were huge red flags. Last Christmas, her and Cathleen would go shopping at lunch and she was buying huge amounts of toys for her children and keeping them at the office. Even with living off government funds for her children she shouldn’t be able to have to  afford what she was buying…
