Goodbye, Farewell…

June and July came around and with it came farewell parties and get-togethers. I also tried to spend quality time with everyone important to me.

This was the time I took Liz to her Rod Stewart concert. I went with Jen out East to Shelter Island for the day. I took Tony, our old stock boy, and his girlfriend to a Wizard of Oz themed mini-golf course. I even went out to dinner with my ex-girlfriend Dena.
We also had my older brother’s bachelor party. This one was quite different from Don’s. It started in the afternoon. All of us played softball at the park. Afterwards, we all went to Jeff’s bar for a buffet dinner. At that point a party bus was picking us up as we went hopping around to various strip clubs in the area. I spent the majority
As I was saying my goodbyes to my friends as well as New York, Chrissy started a relationship up.  I know you can’t always control your heart’s desire like a light switch or anything, but c’mon! Chrissy had grand plans of focusing on nothing but school and work to pay me back the money she’d borrowed from me for the next couple of years and hopefully graduate in three. So with that in mind, we had both signed a two year apartment lease. We haven’t even left and she was making plans to come back to New York in three years. I told myself ‘that is years away and give her the benefit of the doubt’.
The guy she started seeing was named Mike, I think. I don’t know for sure because everyone called him ‘Doogie’. Why, I do not know. He looked more like a light brown haired Andre the Giant and when he stood next to the 5 foot Chrissy it looked rather comical. She insisted a long distance relationship would work well in her situation.
The plan was to leave for the West right after I went on one last vacation with my family in Vermont. I knew I’d be coming back for a few months in September because I had four weddings to go to.  My brother’s, George and Dorrie’s, Michelle (who after a spell as a lesbian ended up marrying a guy named Scott), and Corinne (whom I visited in New Orleans). The nice part was Penney’s would let me work for the few months I would be back, So I still brought money in.
We had a farewell party/4th of July party/Sean’s B-Day at Fiddler’s Green with a huge turnout. I said goodbye to most of my closest friends and even met Heather and Don’s new little baby. Mark flew in from Camp Pendleton and even the Melman was there. The Melman had sinced moved from New Orleans to Vermont in an effort to leave his girlfriend, Elaine, who went with him anyway. I told him I was going to be in Vermont next week, but he informed me that they were moving to New Mexico after sneeking out of their apartment in Vermont in the middle of the night. He told me to call Matt when we get close to New Mexico and get his new address and we could crash there when we got to that neck of the woods..
Some people gave me gifts and that was really sweet. Somehow Alan had even found a way to steal my favorite bowling ball from the bowling alley we went to. It was too heavy for me and the finger holes were to small, but it was red and had the name ‘Melfry’ engraved on it, so who wouldn’t love a bowling ball name ‘Melfry’, I ask you?
The next day, I took Erin with me for one last Vermont vacation with my family. The rule is, once you come up to Vermont the first time, you become like family and you were always welcome.
She stayed for a couple of days and we had a great time. The morning she left she came into my room to say goodbye while in the middle of masturbating. I found myself doing that more often now that I was going through a long spell of not having sex. I’m not proud of it and I don’t know if she knew that she caught me. I never asked her. I just remember thinking as I left New York, that if I never saw Erin again that would be my last memory of her.
