Getting A New Roommate
A few weeks after my makeover, Melissa sent me a message over the Internet. She recalled that I mentioned I was living in a two bedroom apartment and that my roommate had moved out. It turned out that the place she was currently staying in, a house in Bolder broken into 4 separate apartments, was being sold and they were all being forced to move almost immediately. She wondered if the room was available.
My feelings were mixed. I enjoyed living alone, but extra cash was always good. I was making really good headway to eliminate the debt I had acquired back under my former roommate Chrissy’s time in the apartment. In the end it was the fact that she was in need and so I agreed.
The next few days, I got her room ready and even offered to help her move her stuff. The day she moved in, Lori and a few of her friends were going to a posh night club. It may have even been called Posh or it was something just as pretentious… I invited Melissa along as I didn’t want her to be stuck home alone on her first night. She came and we had a pretty good time even though I felt out of my element and had been sure she was too. She spent most of the night watching ‘Break Dancers’ on the upper level that were really quite good.
Later that week, Melissa was having issues with her ex-fiancée when he didn’t cancel the registration on the truck that was in her name. I joined her and her friend when they were going to go on a covert mission up to Boulder to get her plates back so she could cancel it herself. All decked in black and listening to Industrial music to get us psyched all the way up there only to have her tell us she was going to knock on the door to let him know she was taking them.
We advised her that that wasn’t very stealthy, but in the end we knew she was hurt by this guy and wanted to hurt him back. It didn’t give me or the other guy comfort while we were stuck in the car while they argued and fought with each other in front of us for 45 minutes which finally ended in him keeping the plates and promising to pay her money for the truck.
In the end we drove an hour and a half just for that awkward experience…
it feels like time is going too slow in these entries… speed it up, i want to hear about meeting your wife! and me, of course 😛
