Wednesday 11/8/23

7:11a.m. I had a better night. At least an aide came in to change me. I slept soundly with no weird dreams or arthritis pain. I had a nice aide who got me in my wheelchair by five o’clock. I slept in my chair for an hour. Then I called Chocolatechip. She was in good spirits We talked for a few then she had to take meds.

So my morning is going smoothly.i had my coffee and juice already. The coffee was nice and hot. It worked its magic and I feel good all over. If the morning is any indication I’m going to have a good day

10:48a.m. I’m at the coffee shop social. I had my one cup of coffee. I feel pretty good. I have been doing a lot of reading. Also chatting with Chococolatechip. She was doing laundry.She was in a good mood. We are both having a good day.. I think I’ll stay here for lunch.

1:05p.m. I stayed at the social for an hour. Sometimes I just don’t want do crowds very well. Today was one of those days so I made my way back to my room. I continued to read Wizard and d Glass . I read until they served lunch drinks. I had a other coffee and fruit punch. Then I called Chocolatschip. We had a nice talk about the old times work shared We talked until they served lunch I ate two hot dogs.

My day is going great . My only complaint is the damned Hoyer pad.it is killing my butt. But thank God I don’t have any arthritis pain. Also I’m having a good time reading my book Wizard and Glass. I just read a very good section and it only gets better. Life is good!

I only hope I get put to bed soon. Like I said this Hoyer pad is killing me. I’ve been sitting on it for over eight hours. I can only tolerate the pain for so long. Eight hours is long enough. I just have to get off this pad and in bed. But I’ll probably have to suffer it out for at least another hour at least. The aides are busy with lunch trays.

2:27p.m. Happy Days! I’m in bed. I had a couple of nice aides who put me to bed and changed my briefs. I am so glad to get off that blasted Hoyer pad. I feel so much better now. Now I can concentrate on Wizard and Glass by Stephen King. I’m about halfways through it. Next up is Wind Through the Keyhole. This is the fifth book in the Dark Tower series.

I was talking with Chococolatechip. She is going to get groceries delivered today thanks to her sister Kathleen. Kathleen is Also going to buy her a new air bed this month. I’m glad the family is helping because Chococolatechip is in direr straits thanks to an on going bed bug problems.

6:56p.m. I had delicious supper tonight. They served country smothered chicken,mashed potatoes with gravy, mixed veggies, a biscuit and ambrosia for dessert. I ate it all and did not get sick or bloated. I also had a fourth cup of coffee and juice.

Something completely different happened today. The aides came in to change my briefs around four o’clock.Then they put me back in my wheelchair. I was a bit upset. I was laying in bed nice and comfy enjoying my book. They told me it is not good to stay in bed half the day. I said it isn’t good sitting on that Hoyer pad. That pad is very painful on my butt I said. But the aides are the boss.

So I ate dinner in my chair. In a way I was glad. I hate eating in bed. I get food all over the place. I was able to brush my teeth after dinner . I always brush after I eat except when eating in bed. Besides, the aides are right. It is not good to lie in bed all the time..

I called Chocolatschip after I ate. She had a good day. The food order Kathleen bought arrived. It came to $35 . I said I think it is great your sister helps you out. We both agreed the extra groceries will come in handy. Then Kathleen texted Chococolatechip and said the airbed will arrive tomorrow. This cost around $65 Chococolatechip said. So Chococolatechip had a good day as well.

Then we talked about the bed bug situation. Chococolatechip told Kim and Stacy about the problem. She wanted to know when the exterminator will come to assess her apartment. They couldn’t tell her. She said she had no appointments for several days. She plans on getting ready for it. Then she was saying Gordon, the exterminator, told her the bb might be building up a resistance. That is the only reason she can’t get rid of them.

We had a good conversation. It was getting late and Chococolatechip wanted to say goodbye. I said I miss you at night. I also said I get so friggin lonely in this place. You are the only person I talk with on a regular basis.

I’m going to go read Wizard and Glass for a couple hours then see if the aides can put me to bed. This has been such a good day I hate to see it end.

9:21p.m. I had a good time reading my book. I read for a couple hours tonight. I think I’ve had enough of books for the day. I am back in bed and pretty tired. The day has finially coming to an end.
