Wednesday 10/25/23

7:14a.m. I’m fee!in 100% better. I had a good sleep with no pain of any kind I remember a weird dream about the library in downtown Steubenville. I donated all of my books to them. They had them in four large stacks I was visiting them. The library itself was completely different from what I remembered. They turned omd section into a coffee shop. I sent there to get a cup of coffee and some juice. The server gave a hard time. Then everyone started laughing at me.

I left the library. It was raining. For some reason my car was parked in the middle of the street. I could not get to it. Some for e was pulling me away from it. I tried and tried but I couldn’t reach my car.

Aides got me out of bed They did a good job. I was in my wheelchair by 4:30. I slept in my chair for a couple hours. Chococolatechip called. Comcast had not cashed her money order It was due yesterday. She was upset about it. I can’t say as I blame her. But she said they can come and take everything. She is done worrying about it.

We talked for a few minutes. I was half asleep so we said our goodbyes. They served coffee and juice. The coffee was good and it woke me up. So I’m above the dirt and blessed with another day.

9:27a.m. I had sweet roll for breakfast. I could eat the cold scrambled eggs or the oatmeal. I fell asleep again. I slept in my wheelchair for a hour. I woke up in time for the coffee social. I’m in the Fiesta Room now for a cup of coffee. I hope the second cup wakes me up for good.

I’m upset with Comcast. They were telling Chococolatechip the bill is due today . She mailed the bill and she has proof it was picked up on the 14th. It is their damned fault they didn’t cash the money order. You would think they would want their blood money. She told me they can come and get their equipment. I don’t blame her one bit.

12:27p.m. I had two cups of coffee and a piece of pumpkin pie at the social. I made my way back to my room after the snacks and caffeine fix. I talked with Chococolatechip on the phone and Messenger.She had some great news. First, Chococolatechip can afford a good airbed next month Second, she has enough money to buy a $25 Amazon gift card this month. Chococolatechip said she will pick one up at Krogers tomorrow when she goes shopping. She will send it by certified mail.

I don’t thinks this is a good idea. I worry about her ha ing enough food at the end of the month. I said I would rather you spend that on groceries. She said she has food on hand and will not starve. She had enough to make her famous homemade chili. That will last a few days. I don’t want you going hungry I said Chococolatechip said she will be ok.

I just had my lunch. I had a BBQ pork roll sandwich. They served two. But I only ate one. They were a bit spicy. I was afraid I would get sick I’m trying to be very careful about what I eat. I also had fries.. I did not get bloated from this meal.

I’m thinking about that gift card right now. If she sends it by certified mail will I get it. Chococolatechip sent a big money order to Comcast by certified mail. She is still having problems. Also, I don’t trust the nursing home. Someone could still steal the the check and she would be out more money. I would rather she wait until she comes for a visit.

2:21p.m. I’m starting to get pissed. I haven’t been changed since they got me up this morning. I had three or four incontinence episodes since then. Aide answered my call light at eleven She didn’t do anything except walk on down the hall. I have been trying to get my briefs changed since lunch. The lousy CNA’S just walk on buy. This place sucks today!.

I’m very uncomfortable down below. It hurts like hell from dried urine. Also the Hoyer pad is hurting my butt. I’ve been sitting on it for over ten hours I just screamed out in excruciating pain. Nobody came. There is no justice for the old and sick.

3:17p.m. I’m finally changed and in bed for the day. I had to make my way to the nurse’s station and bitch. Still it took awhile for thr aides to come. They were not too friendly but neither was I. All I can say is they did their job and that what counts Boy was I pissed. Now I have to defuse.

8:25 p.m. I didn’t eat supper. They served a hot roast beef sandwich which I love. But it had too much gravy. I was afraid it would make me sick. I ate the cup of fruit and the dinner roll. I also had a glass of fruit punch but no coffee. I had four cups and that was enough.

I talked with Chocolatechip just before supper She was going on about Comcast. The bank told her the money order has t cleared. Again the bank told her a lot of people are having trouble with Comcast. I suggested she call legal aide and see if they can help. Chocolatechip didn’t have much to say about that idea I also suggested she switch to Frontier next month. But they will probably be just as bad.

Anyway we talked for a short time. Chocolatechip wanted to go to bed early and get up at three. She has a big day tomorrow.Her case manager is taking her shopping . Then she has a phone interview with CMP. So she wants to get a head start on housework.

I began reading after we said our goodbyes. This was the first time I felt like reading in a couple of nights. I read for a couple hours getting through twenty pages of the Wastelands. I hope to read more before turning in for the night.
