Thursday 8/17/23

8:15a.m. I finished chapter 10 in my book. I have three more chapters to go. I should be finished by Saturday. I’m not sure what I’ll reead next. I have one more book by Akhil Reed Amar but I’m tired of him. I think I’m in the mood for something light. I have a couple of und Stephen King books I might give those a shot. You can’t go wrong with Stephen King.

I slept good last night. I read until mine then got sleepy. I also had good care Aides came in a couplei of times to change my briefs. They got me up and in my wheelchair by five. As soon as I was in my chair Chococolatechip called. We talked for about an hour. I wasn’t very with it though because I didn’t have my coffee. I slept in my wheelchair until they served drinks and breakfast.

Breakfast was delicious. I had pancakes and two slicam. I ate it all. I also had my combo of orange and coffee. The combination of food and caffeine woke me up . I’m ready to face my day

10:34a.m. I’m not quit yet ready to face my day. I still feel very tired. I also need changed. I couldn’t get help with this. But I made it to the coffee social anyways . I will not miss that for anything. I’m on my first cup already and the caffeine is kicking in. God bless coffee!

1:58p.m. I didn’t have too good a time at the coffee social. The staff was not friendly. I needed my briefs changed and felt very miserable. I must of smelled like urine and feces I did have two cups of coffee and a glass of chocolate milk. They served a chicken pot pie which wasn’t very good. I ate about half of it.

I made my way back to my room. I was still one miserable o?d fart. I needed nangec time. I had to wait an hour or more for help Finally, aides came in They put me to bed, changed my briefs and cleaned me up. I’m a bit more comfortable and feel much better.

I talked with Chococolatechip. She got the application form for Freedom Place. It is only about ten miles long. They want your ?ifr history plus a vial of blood. She said her case manager will help. Case manager also said their appointment for the 21st is on for eleven. Four more days and we will be together again. I can’t wait to see Chococolatechip.

I said to Chococolatechip you are the only one who ever visited me in the nursing home. My family just does not give a shit. Chococolatechip is my family now. She said her sisters Elaine and Kathleen like me as well as her daughters. In fact my Facebook picture is on her daughter’s page

Chococolatechip and I talked about a lot of different things. I mentioned I was browsing for books on Amazon. I have more books lined up to purchase. I said two more of my favorite authors are coming out with books, John Grisham and David Baldacci. I have almost two hundred books on my Kindle. I still want more books. There is no such thing as too many books.

Speaking of books it is time to go read The Law of the Land A Guided Tour of Our Constitutional Republic. I’m on Chapter 11 which is about the Fourth Amendment. I tried to start this chapter while at the Social. I was too miserable to concentrate. I will start from the beginning

9:02p.m. I didn’t do any reading this afternoon. I talked with Chococolatechip .Also I was getting a lot of muscle spasms. I couldn’t concentrate because of the pain. I just laid in bed feeling miserable. I did ask to have my feet elevated. I also asked the nurse for some Tylenol.Both helped with the pain.

I had two pit beef sandwiches and a cup of pineapple bits for supper. I had the usual fruit juice and coffee for drinks. Supper was good I talked with Chococolatechip after I ate. We talked for a half hour then she went to bed.

I began reading my book at 6:30 I read all night finishing two chapters. I have fifteen more pages to go. I think I will stay up and finish it tonight. Next up will be another Akhil Reed Amar book America’s Unwritten Constitution . well. I better get to it
