Sunday 10/22/23

7:44p.m. I slept most of the day. They got !e up at five. As usual I slept on my wheelchair until breakfast. I had pancakes and sausage which I didn’t eat Them I slept until it was time for the Coffee Social. I was half dead but I made it to the Fiesta Room. I had two cups of coffee then made it back to my room .

Usually three cups is enough but not today. I could not get awake. I say  in my wheelchair struggling to stay awake. zBy eleven I had had enough. I wanted to go back to bed. Aide came when I rang the call light. They put me to bed. undressed me and changed my briefs. I can’t complain about the care because they did a good job. 

I had a big lunch. I ate three pieces of chicken cacciatore rice, a dinner roll and a big piece of peach pie. I also had juice and coffee. I finally talked with Chococolatechip after Lunch She was busy doing laundry all morning. Then she watched The Trouble with Angels. We talked for a little bit then she wanted to lie down.

We were both tiered. I fell asleep again. I slept most of the afternoon. I think I woke up around 3:30. I read my book The Wastelands by Stephen King. I read for about an hour. Then I called Chocolatschip again. We talked until they served breakfast drinks and supper. 

They served mashed potatoes and an open roast beef sandwich. I didn’t eat the potatoes because they were cold and runny. I wasn’t very hungry anyway. Once again I called Chocolatechip Then we switched to Messenger. She wanted to tell me a story about a crazy tenant who was screaming her fool head off We chatted until she went to bed.

I went back to my book. I’m enjoying these Dark Tower novels I said it before and I’ll say it again, they are King at his best. The Wastelands seem to be the best so far. 

9:54p.m. I read for another hour. I stopped because I was getting tired again. Then the aide came in to give me a shower. I like this aide because she always does a good job and is friendly. And she did do a good job tonight. I feel awake and reborn after getting cleaned up.

Usually I’m falling asleep at this time. But I feel like I can stay up for the night reading. I had a total of five cups of Coffee so I’m keyed up. Besides I’m addicted to that damned book The Wasteland. I just have to find out what is happening next so I’m going to read before the battery in this tablet runs out.
