Monday 9/18/23

10:20a.m. I don’t know what it is but I can’t stay awake today. I had a good night. I fell asleep around 10. I slept with pain or weird dreams. I even got changed a couple times. The aide said she was running behind . She let me sleep in until 6:30. She was a nice aide too. She cleaned me up, dressed me in street clothes and got me in my wheelchair. I got excellent treatment. 

But I promptly fell asleep. Not even breakfast and coffee worked. Ik slept in my wheelchair until ten. Chococolatechip called and woke me up. She was at the hospital. She went to the lab for blood work then a B12 shot.  We talked briefly then I got ready for the Coffee Social.

I’m in the Fiesta Room now. I’m on my first cup of coffee. I hope the extra coffee will start my engine. I don’t want to be sleeping all day. I have The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub to read. Then there is lunch. A hearty meal always gets me going.

8:02p.m. I had two coffees at the Coffee social Lunch was delicious. They served fish, potatoes au grotin,  pees, a dinner roll and a  chocolate brownie for dessert. I ate it all. After lunch I wheeled !myself back to my room. But lunch made me very sick with very painful constipation. It bothered me for over an hour and I desperately wanted to go to bed

I didn’t have long to wait. I had a nice aide who came in around two. She got me in bed, undressed me cleaned me up and changed my briefs. I felt better because the pain in my belly diminishef and I was off the Hoyer pad. 

Then I talked with Chococolatechip. She went on a out how the members of the Bitch Clique had a wild party in Jenn’s apartment last night. It woke her up a few times and she couldn’t get back to sleep. She talked about her trip to the hospital this morning for blood work and B12 shot. I talked about the Social and getting sick.

Then Dr.Phil came on She watched that show while we talked. It was about a philandering husband. He got two women pregnant at the same time. In the end the husband of the wife he cheated with came on stage. Chococolatechip said it wasn’t pretty. In the end they all agreed to go on as nothing happened. And I thought I had problems.

I fell asleep after we finished talking. I slept until they served supper. I didn’t eat it. I was afraid of getting sick again. I called Chocolatschip. We talked very briefly. She was up early and was pretty tired. She went to bed at six 

I read my book The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub. I read four chapters today. I’m really enjoying this novel. Also , today marks a forty day reading streak. This is the second longest streak I had. I’m proud of myself.
