Monday 8/7/23

6:37am I’m pissed. I didn’t sleep well last night. I was on the edge of the bed. I couldn’t get an aide to move me to the cnter. Then I want to get on my wheelchair but they won’t get me up. They did change me But I am on a very uncomfortable position. The aides will not help

I started my book The Law of the Land : A Guided Tour of ,Our Constitutional Republic by Akhil Ree

d Amar I only read twelve pages I started getting sleepy. So I must of had some sleep.

There is one other thing the aides did that was not right. They kept my table out of reach. My mouth was like a sandbox but I could g reach my water. In short I had lousy night. The day isn’t starting out very well either.

12:56p.m. Things did get a bit better. The morning aides pulled me up and got me in a better position. I had a coffee cake and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Then,after I ate. an aide cleaned me up. dressed me. and got me in my wheelchair. I felt a lot better after I was dressed an in my wheelchair.

The same aide who dressed me took me to the Fiesta Room for the Coffee Social. I started to read Chapter 2 of my book and. This one is about Justice Hugo Black. I read most of a very interesting chapter. So I had a very good time. I had two cups of coffee, a donut and two glasses of chocolate milk. The. They served a big lunch of fish, scalloped potatoes , pees a dinner roll and chocolate cake for dessert. I ate half my lunch and made it back to my room.

I called Chocolatschip. She was kind of bummed or very tired. Yesterday she spent three hours cooking and cleaning up a meal for Eddie the Moocher. She was tired after all that work. Then she had a telephone interview with CMP. This was supposed to be at nine. Chococolatechip got up at 4:30 to get ready for it. They cancelled on her. She was wondering why lately nothing seems to be going right We talked until she wanted to get something to eat.

Today is turning out to be a better day.

4:15 p.m. I spent the afternoon talking to Chococolatechip. It was a nice. relaxing way to spend the time. She went on an on about all the Moochers in her life. She went on and on about how sick and tired of going out of her way helping people This went on all afternoon. Finally I said only you can put a stop to it She said it has to stop now. Chocolatschip ended our conversation y putting a Do not disturb sign on her door.

I’m in bed now. Aides came in not too long ago to put me to bed and change my briefs. I feel better now because the Hoyer pad was hurting my butt. I can read in bed after supper.

Supper sucks tonight. They are serving ham and pinto beans. I hate ham and pinto beans. Im glad I had a big lunch and a sandwich later on. I’m not going to be hungry when I refuse to eat this shit.

5:35p.m. I talked with Chococolatechip a lot this afternoon. Talked to her again before they served drinks. We talked about Eddie the Moocher. He was behind on his rent to $1200. Chococolatechip said his sister bailed him out. I said if she can do that she can feed him. I also said my sister would never have done that for me. I wouldn’t of asked her in the first place. Chococolatechip said her sisters wouldn’t of helped her. We both get checks and we both learned there is no free ride in life.

Chococolatechip said she felt better after putting that sign on her door. Perhaps that will keep the Moochers from knocking. She said it was very hard for her to do. She also said I had a good idea. We both hope that will end the mooching.

I just finished my dinner drinks, coffee and chocolate milk. Like I said I’m not eating ham and pinto beans Yech! It is late anyways and I still haven’t gotten supper. If I lucky they might skip me tonight.

7:39p.m. There was some mix up in the kitchen. Supper was not served until after six. I refused to eat it. Spinach was served along with the dreaded ham and pinto beans I hate spinach as well I’m hoping to snack on a pbj sandwich

I’m very proud of myself for doing a lot of reading. I read over sixth pages today. I. almost finished with chapter 3. This one is about Robert Jackson I’m still on a reading streak. This makes 33 days in a row.

I found out tomorrow is National Book Lover’s Day. I ?love books every day of the year. I will celebrate this holiday by reading all day. I think we’re all should keep this holiday in our hearts everyday of the year. We should all spend one to two hours a day with a good book. I intend to do that tonight by finishing Chapter 3
