2:11p.m. I had nightmares last night. I had a dream about my dad. We were having yet another fight. I was screaming at him calling him all kinds of names. He was yelling at me saying I will never amount to a hill of beans. The damned nightmare woke me up early. I couldn’t get back to sleep. I was awake and waiting so I read my book Peril by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa. I read for two hours then stopped for breakfast.
I had a skimpy breakfast. They served four slices of toast, cold scrambled eggs and cold oatmeal cereal. At least the coffee was hot. I called Chocolatechip after I ate. She complained about feeling run down. She has been doing laundry and housework every day. She said she is burned out with laundry. But that is what you have to do to keep the bed bugs at bay.
I asked if she had seen any last night. Chocolatechip said she felt something bite her on the leg. She inspected her airbed thoroughly and didn’t see any. Then she abruptly changed the subject She talked about going to the bank and Dollar General then the post office Chocolatechip said she will call her case manager to get a ride.
Then she talked about a rumor going around Misery Towers. There is supposed to be a surprise inspection in March. They usually do have inspection around this time of year. Chocolatechip said she is stocking up on cleaning supplies. The apartment is in good shape except the floor needs mopped she said. Still she isn’t taking any chances.
We talked for awhile then she had to get busy. I began writing an entry. I had an hours long journal entry finished. Then I lost internet connection when I tapped Publish. I was frustrated to say the least. It was close to the Coffee Social so I got my Kindle and headed for the Fiesta Room.
I didn’t stay very long. I had one cup of coffee and browsed for books. I made myself miserable because I found four or five books. I wished to hell I had a $50 Amazon gift card. Bummer I said. While there I ended up talking to a woman who has a Kindle. We talked about books for awhile. I showed her the one I was reading. She said she will have to check it out.
She pushed me back to my room after I à my coffee. I started to read my books again The authors gave a scathing account of how Trump handled the coronavirus virus and the Black Lives Matter protest movement. It was an interesting read. I read until they served lunch.
I ate a big meal. They served two turkey burgers and coleslaw. I had a piece of cinnamon cake for dessert. Lunch was delicious
That abou sums up my day so far. It’s been a good once. Now I need changed.
5:01p.m. I’m in bed now. I turned on my call light at 2:30. Asshole was on duty so I thought I’d have to wait a couple hours. But I’ll be damned he came in at 3:00. Two of them got me in bed with a hoyer cleaned me up and changed my briefs. They did a good job. I was glad to get off the hoyer pad. Ten hours sitting on it is enough.
I talked with Chocolatechip after they put me to bed. She is going to bed early because of an early morning therapy appointment. She definitely made arrangements with her case manager for a visit on March 11. She also said an Amazon gift card might be in the works. She said she would rather see me get a gift card than order pizza. I said that is true love. We talked for a while then she had to get ready for bed.
They will be serving dinner soon. Tonight it is Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, a dinner roll and pineapple titbits. I like Swedish meatballs.
I did a lot of reading tod I’d like to get back to my book and read a few more chapters tonight. I think Bob Woodward is a pretty good writer and reporter. He won a Pulitzer prize when he covered the Watergate scandal working with Carl Bernstein. I read a few other books Woodward wrote about Trump. I’d love to read them again.
Trouble is I’ve been neglecting my Bible reading. Im ashamed to admit it but I can only concentrate on one book at a time. Lately I’m all in a rage to learn about the Trump and his administration. I don’t know why. I can’t stand the man but he fascinates the hell out of me. So I will be reading all the books I have about him.
