It’s one of those nights when you can’t resist sitting outside and just enjoying the out of doors. Isn’t the sky beautiful? I was doing just that, and it occurred to me that I should try taking some night shots with my new camera. I’m still quite the amateur, but with a good camera, it’s not as noticable. 🙂

This summer, I added a new citronella lantern chandelier which is meant to deter pesty mosquitos. Put to the test, I’d have to say that I’m in need of a plan B, but not so bad that it kept me indoors. Truth be told, I just like the way it looks. It’s just enough illumination to make for a nice ambiance, and I really like the way the camera picked up on that. I brought out a margarita to sip on as well. Anyone care to join me? That’s the hard part, is times like this when I’d really like to enjoy it with someone.
Alone is ok most of the time. Just not all of the time.

I’m finally back to work, so I’m not taking my weekends quite so much for granted anymore. I did as much as I could today, including mowing half of my front yard in the rain. I was chuckling to myself. I can’t imagine what passers by were thinking when they saw me out there, half drenched but dedicated to finishing what I had started. After it stopped and dried up a bit, I did the back yard. It makes sitting outside and admiring what I’ve accomplished that much sweeter. I did plant a few more flowers in the small garden below the patio. I think I’m done. All that’s needed now is water, and TLC. I can do that.

You commented about water being soft, but strong enough to break up rocks. Tension between surface molecules makes liquid drops round. This ‘surface tension’ gets larger the smaller the drop. Re Lawrence Berkeley Lab, It may become the basis for making very tiny engines– like in the movie where a submarine was shrunk to navigate the bloodstream and debug a difficult to reach infected area

But for the thousands of miles between us, would love to join you in the beautiful ambience of your chandelier lit patio. Margaritas welcome!

Your line about mowing wet sounds like Drowned Rat Rides Again. Your Deck looks lovely and sounds like you will need a big pitcher for all of us who wnat to visit. Make mine Diet Pepsi , however.

I sure wish I could join you. You are just back to work & I am quiting. I will be done this Saturday, I can’t wait. I need a breather so bad. Keep up the good work, it seems like you’ve been able to do a lot. Let me know if you find or hear of anything that really works on the squits. They haven’t been too bad this year but it’s early in the season too.

I’ve been enjoying our deck but I haven’t decided if I’ll plant my flower baskets yet or not. I’ll decide by this weekend. I hope you are having a good summer. Enjoy.

Thanks for not forgetting me. I still remember how you took the extra step for me and helped me to have something to do when I got on the pc. I will never forget that. I love the pictures you took. I would love to sit out there too. I can clearly see why you do.

I was looking at your deck flowers again & wondered how things look now. It’s early fall here & leaves are starting to turn yellow & the undergrowth is turning red & cranberry colored. I hope we have a long fall, like nice fall temps through late Sept, but that is probably real wishful thinking. I enjoy my deck all year long, how about you?
