my mom gave me a baby name book.

dated 1984, im sure the same book she looked at when she was trying to name me.

it got me thinking, what are the top baby names, and how the hell do i avoid them?

i already have the girl name picked out, (i have for years!) and i’m not telling ANYONE until she is born, whether this baby is a girl or not… i can wait.. i’ve waited for atleast 9 years now.

the boy name is a little harder. i have a few that i like, but i know my husband won’t go for any of them… i told him i liked deagan (as in brian deagan, sexy as hell motocross rider) and he liked it until i said the second part

i just finished looking at the social security website, that has all registered babies in the US, and holy fucking shit. is everyone a pod??????? i know that trends in names are usually in localized locations, but ALL OVER THE US the names are the same. (PLEASE! PLEASE! stop naming your children Nevaeh!!!! it’s not original, since  more and more kids are named that every day!

Eva, Ava, Madison, Madelyn, Olivia, Ella, Katelyn….. my kid is gonna have no original classmates, and doesn’t even need to have a good memory, cuz all the kids will be named some sort of "…lyn"; they’ll be able to fake it, and say "oops, i thought you were the OTHER "…lyn"

my name is not really growing in popularity, but it is in the top 1000 for the US.

my top boy name is in the 400’s, which kinda bothers me…. but the other name is not even close!

Girl name doesn’t make the list either.
