kanye, no more hennessy

what can one accomplish in two weeks?

not much.

actually, quite a lot.

we started and nearly completed the demo to our bathroom.

on sept 4th i told joe he could demolish the bathroom sink, and put in the $400 sink/vanity/mirror set that i bought nearly two years ago… that has been sitting in our kitchen for as long.  the old sink had been leaking (for about 3 years) and when i would forget to empty the bucket catching the water, it would just overflow and started warping the sink (that was put in in the 70’s)  little did we know, that the water had been collecting other places besides under the sink… and once we peeled off the panelling, we found a really awesome surprise of half a wall of mold!!!!!!!!!!! SWEET! so, jake and joe had to buy a new sheet of rock, and they put that in…but the top of the wall is plaster, so only half the wall is rock, and half is plaster (throughout the whole bathroom… why? who knows!) they got it in, and didn’t mud, but used vinyl spackling to fill the cracks. whatever, it works for now.

AND, best part…. we have a new sink!  the next few days i proceeded to prime, paint, and re-paint… after i re-filled the holes that joe didn’t see… and now our bathroom is red with copper fixtures… pretty sweet. (i hardly ever use the word sweet, in reference to things that are great, exciting, etc. but apparently in writing i like it)

now we just need to have some money to replace the toilet and shower. and then eventually the walls…

house hunting has stopped. i’m too wrapped up in getting shit accomplished here, that i really don’t want to move. i just want to fix our roof, and plumbing, and buy a stove that works (or hopefully get a free used one!) and i’ll be happy for now. windows, doors, other appliances, EVERYTHING else can wait. i just want to take a shit and not smell it for 2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! our plumbing is really that bad… and somehow, when they shut the water off to fix the sink, they messed up the water pressure… now our shower literally trickles out of the faucet.

makes me feel clean!

went to my brother’s first football game of the season. he didn’t play one second… cuz apparently he is third string. and he’s the 2nd smallest player on the team, so that probably would be the reason… plus he’s a junior, and unless you’re REALLY good, they usually play the seniors the most.

been keeping up with school. i have the next 4 days off of work, so hopefully i can get way ahead with my classes and not have to worry so much about keeping up. (i currently have 6 classes, will have 8 come october.) i want to get this shit done and over with… and be sure to pass cuz otherwise they’ll take away any financial aid i may be getting… since i still don’t officially know what is available to me.

baby kicks me every day, some more than the rest. today we went to WIC to get some new food vouchers… and the nurse talked to me about the birthing process and told me about all these free programs that will get me a carseat and gift certificates for other free stuff. there is so much free government money out there it is unbelievable.

my mom turns 50 on thursday. i havn’t got anything to give her… cuz i was going to give her the quilt i’m having made, but it’s not even close to done yet. guess i should have been more on top of it. if i get saturday off of work, i’ll take her to the renissance festival in the cities. she has wanted to go there every year, but we never end up going… and havn’t been since spike was a baby and echo wasn’t even born… so it’s been about 15 years!!!! holy shit time flies.

otherwise i’m just taking her out for dinner… but it’s her 50th. kind of a big deal!!!!!!!! i know she doesn’t want to celebrate though… and she’s been ignoring the fact that it’s coming up… so i know she is dreading it.

had a football opener party on sunday. of course nobody showed up except joe’s dad and brother. god forbid i have any friends when i can’t drink. hmmmmm. suspicious?

i’m gonna send out invites for the Viking/Packer game though… cuz i think people might actaully show up for that one.

yey bret favre. *not that i really think he’s going to make the team that much better. AP, sure, he will… favre. whatever*
