Faith Remains
Poem about religious abuse
Faith
Tryin to use your faith
To give YOU space
What about when I wanted it
Trying to smother me
Instead of loving me
never was what you said it was
Especially when it was often revoked
With every action you took
Every hurtful word you spoke
When your hands wrapped my hands around trying to choke
Where’s your faith
When you threaten me
Where’s your faith
When you grab me and restrain me?
Silence me
Use violence on me
Gone up in smoke
I’m done though
No more hope though
Because your faith
Disappeared in an instant

Not consistant
But with me your insistent
I’m chasing my own faith
Don’t need you no more to stay
Because I want to do it my way
Got to go for you I will pray
